ABIQUIÚ LAKE: The Fishing was slow but there were a few walleye taken by anglers using fathead minnows at depths of 17 to 25 feet.
CHAMA RIVER: The water flows Monday morning below El Vado and Abiquiú dams were 58 cubic feet per second and 216 cubic feet per second, respectively. Trout fishing below Abiquiú was slow-to-fair using salmon eggs and small spinners. There were no reports from below El Vado.
EAGLE NEST LAKE: The thickness of the ice Monday morning was about 17 inches. The fishing was good using ice jigs, worms, Gulp eggs, salmon eggs and power bait for a mixture of perch and rainbow trout. Several trout were caught in the 16- to 18-inch range.
HERON LAKE: The bank fishing for rainbow trout was fair-to-good using garlic power bait and salmon eggs.
JEMEZ WATERS: The water flow on the Jemez River near Jemez Springs was 21 cubic feet per second Monday morning. The trout fishing below Battleship Rock and through Jemez was good using small bead head nymphs and salmon eggs.
RIO GRANDE: The water flow at the Taos Junction Bridge Monday morning was 544 cubic feet per second. The fishing was slow but there were a few northern pike caught by anglers using jerk baits and big flies.
SAN JUAN RIVER: The water flow below Navajo Dam Monday morning was 493 cubic feet per second. The trout fishing through the Quality Waters was good using red annelids, San Juan worms, chartreuse egg patterns, wooly buggers, dead chickens and small hair jigs. The fishing through the bait waters was good using salmon eggs, power bait, jigs and jerk baits.
