The police blotter is published to give readers an abridged look at criminal activity in their community and neighborhood. It is simply an illustration of what local law enforcement, funded by taxpayers, must deal with daily throughout the Española Valley.

1:18 a.m. A Calle del Rio caller reported a man is on her porch, saying someone is trying to kill him.
3:57 a.m. An overdose was reported on Jemez View Street after a man possibly took fentanyl. Two doses of Narcan were administered.
6:44 a.m. Two people built a fire on the side of Fairview Pharmacy.
7:22 a.m. A car hit a wall in front of the Alcalde fire station.
9:32 a.m. A student at Española Valley High School was found with a THC vape pen.
11:12 a.m. Homeless men were by the Burger King dumpster and refusing to leave.
11:14 a.m. A warrant was served on a man at Española Pathways Shelter.
12:12 p.m. A Chimayó caller reported a man and woman have been harassing him for a while and they pulled up next to him while he was driving and began yelling obscenities.
12:37 p.m. A Zia Credit Union caller said a member walked into the bank with a note saying someone is trying to make her withdraw all her money from her savings account. The individual demanding money was on the woman’s phone, which she had in her pocket.
1:38 p.m. A caller reported a completely nude man was masturbating near the Santa Clara Bridge. The reporting officer said the man claimed to be with the Secret Service.
1:58 p.m. An Española Valley High School student was caught with a THC cartridge.
3:07 p.m. A man had his pants down and was showing his genitals near the dumpster at Burger King.
3:20 p.m. A Walmart caller said a man and woman broke into his vehicle and walked toward the nail salon.
3:30 p.m. A caller reported her son was inappropriately touched by another student at Fairview Elementary.
3:34 p.m. A Milagro Village Mobile Home caller said the manager is putting large speed bumps on the road and they’re damaging vehicles.
6:15 p.m. A man left the Española Hospital against medical advice.
6:47 p.m. The man from the previous call was in the hospital parking lot, making a scene.
10:39 p.m. A man was down by the winner’s club at the Ohkay Casino. CPR was performed and three doses of Narcan were administered before the man regained consciousness.

Feb. 22
1:53 a.m. Six people were arguing in the parking lot at the Ohkay Casino.
7:39 a.m. A caller said a man with a machete was walking around Saints and Sinners. The responding officer said the man didn’t have a machete.
8:40 a.m. A grass fire was reported in Dixon.
10:20 a.m. A Camino Santa Cruz caller found drug paraphernalia in his driveway.
10:22 a.m. A Chama caller reported his girlfriend is having alcohol withdrawals and anxiety attacks.
12:10 p.m. A County Road 7 caller said her husband’s fire got out of control and their hose is not working.
1:54 p.m. An ambulance was called for a woman who was involved in a domestic earlier in the day because she was pregnant and experiencing abdominal pain.
3:27 p.m. A caller reported a man was unconscious in a mobile home park, but everything is OK; they were able to wake him up.
3:56 p.m. A caller said a man was passed out in a vehicle in Chimayó with two children in the back, who were screaming for help. Medics administered Narcan. The children were released to their mother.
4:29 p.m. A vehicle crashed into a wall on South McCurdy Road and State Road 76.
5:58 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a child in Chama who allegedly had a gun. The responding deputy reported the child had a BB gun and told him to stay away from the road and from cars.
6:22 p.m. A woman went to the Española Police Department to report her sister is using her identity.
7:44 p.m. A caller said a person at the gas pump at Speedway is spray-painting a car and it looks suspicious.
8:06 p.m. An El Guique caller reported her boyfriend is very drunk, yelling outside and punching cars.
8:30 p.m. A Salas Autobody caller said someone dumped drugs in the dumpster.
8:46 p.m. A Chama caller wanted his ex-girlfriend removed from his house because she locked herself in the bathroom and was acting disorderly.
10:08 p.m. A Jicarilla caller reported a very drunk woman outside his house.
10:56 p.m. A caller requested to speak with an officer because her nephew is very drunk, is in the arroyo and was walking barefoot through cactus.

Feb. 23
1:04 a.m. A man on a bike was near Allsups with a bag full of stuff. The responding officer could not find him.
4:45 a.m. A Chimayó caller woke up to find one of his trucks stolen.
6:41 a.m. A caller said a 61-year-old man was not waking up, had blue lips and was cold to the touch. The caller then said the man was alive and vomiting, however, the Office of the Medical Investigator was eventually called.
7:40 a.m. A caller reported his wallet was stolen by a man at the Ohkay Casino last night.
8:09 a.m. A Calle Loma caller said a man is violating a restraining order and is at her house, yelling and demanding a ride.
9:44 a.m. An officer stopped to speak with two people who were throwing rocks at each other on Carr Lane and North Riverside Drive.
12:53 p.m. A man was threatening an Avanyu Travel security guard with an ax.
1:02 p.m. A man who was trespassed from Walmart was harassing customers and refusing to leave.
1:03 p.m. A Chimayó caller said a man drove onto her property, got out of the car and left it there.
1:06 p.m. A Corlett Road caller reported two men and two women broke into their warehouse.
1:33 p.m. A State Road 76 in Española caller said people are squatting on her husband’s property.
1:49 p.m. A Santa Claran Casino Hotel caller reported a man brandished a gun at them and threatened to shoot them after they asked him to leave.
2:05 p.m. A caller said he’d been drinking a lot and decided to drink paint thinner and now has uncontrollable vomiting and chest pain.
2:16 p.m. A woman said she found and moved stolen items from Habitat for Humanity to the dumpsters near Fairview Pharmacy.
2:52 p.m. A woman at Española Hospital reported her relatives jumped her, bit her and scratched her.
3:11 p.m. A Hernandez caller said the neighbor is threatening him with a knife and threatened to pull out a gun.
3:24 p.m. A Chimayó caller reported his father is getting threatening text messages from his son, saying he’s going to harm him and everyone at the house.
3:37 p.m. A very drunk man was walking around the Dixon Community Center.
6:21 p.m. An ambulance was requested at the Avanyu Travel Center because a drunk man needed to be evaluated.
8:43 p.m. A vehicle collision occurred on North Riverside Drive and the man involved refused medical attention. Medics told him that not being seen could lead to death, but he refused because he couldn’t take his alcohol with him.
8:47 p.m. Two overdoses were reported on Kennedy Loop. A woman was breathing, but the man was unconscious and they were both inside a house but the door was locked. The woman regained consciousness but the man died and the Officer of the Medical Investigator was called.

7:54 a.m. A Medanales caller said his neighbor’s dog is becoming a nuisance because it’s constantly on his property and intimidating him, so he can’t get work done outside.
7:54 a.m. A caller reported a homeless man is sleeping behind the GRD Health building on Los Alamos Highway.
9:05 a.m. A Hernandez caller said her 13-year-old daughter refused to go to school.
9:36 a.m. An overdose was reported on Starlighter Loop.
10:10 a.m. A caller said her child’s father hit her son on Feb. 20 and she wants to file a report.
11:29 a.m. A caller told a dispatcher that he takes off his steering wheel and handcuffs it in the vehicle, but his handcuff key broke and wants to see if police keys would fit the cuffs.
2 p.m. A man was stabbed in the chest at the Ohkay Travel Center and died.
2:30 p.m. A caller reported a woman was slumped over the wheel on County Road 129 in Hernandez.
2:46 p.m. A Rio Arriba Title caller said there are several homeless in the area who are pulling trash bags out of the dumpster and leaving trash all over.
3:08 p.m. An Ohkay Travel Center caller reported a man approached her car around noon and asked her for money. She thinks the man stole a medium-size luggage bag from her vehicle.
6:26 p.m. A Lowe’s Home Improvement caller said a person she has a restraining order on was in the store.
6:31 p.m. An overdose was reported at Las Lomas Apartments. CPR was performed and one dose of Narcan was administered, but the woman died.
8:35 p.m. A caller wanted to speak with a deputy about her child being beat up by three children at Chimayó Elementary.
10:57 p.m. A Calle de las Yuccas caller said a woman was breaking windows on his house.

Feb. 25
1:03 a.m. A BOLO was issued for a vehicle that may have been involved in a triple homicide case, to include a stabbing at the Ohkay Owingeh Laundromat.
1:40 a.m. The vehicle for which a BOLO was issued was found at the N.M. Highway 68 and N.M. 74 junction in Ohkay Owingeh.
6:22 a.m. A North Yucca Street caller requested a welfare check on her drunk uncle, who was walking outside last night and fell asleep.
7:18 a.m. A Hernandez caller wanted to speak with a deputy about her 16-year-old daughter who was acting out and refusing to go to school.
7:40 a.m. An Abiquiú caller requested a medical evaluation on his brother who fell on the floor and is sleeping there because the caller couldn’t get him back up. It was determined the man on the floor died and the Office of the Medical Investigator was called.
9:19 a.m. An Ohkay Owingeh Police Department officer was picking up needles on Tortilla Flats.
10:12 a.m. A Fairview Elementary caller reported suspicious injuries on a student’s body. The caller said the child most recently had a broken clavicle.
10:29 a.m. A caller said a group of homeless people are camping out behind McDonald’s; they were asked to leave yesterday but have returned.
10:42 a.m. A needle was found on Po Pay Avenue and North Yucca Street.
11:06 a.m. A needle was found on Tsigo Bugeh Road and Po Pay Avenue.
11:14 a.m. A caller reported a bag of cement or something on Paseo de Oñate, that was causing a cloud of dust when cars drove over it. The caller was concerned that the cloud would cause a crash.
11:41 a.m. A Hernandez caller said his brother was drinking all night and fell between the bed and wall.
11:52 a.m. A caller reported a car was driving in the wrong lane on North Paseo de Oñate and Fairview Lane.
11:53 a.m. A brush fire was reported in Chamita.
12:13 p.m. A warrant was served on a man in the Tierra Amarilla Detention Center.
12:57 p.m. A fire was reported near the Rio Chama Chevron.
1:06 p.m. Students at Española Middle School were caught with THC pens.
1:35 p.m. A student at Española Valley High School was caught with alcohol and THC paraphernalia.
2:30 p.m. Someone in a pickup truck was parked in front of Speedway for an hour and was staring at the employee inside the store.
2:47 p.m. A caller said a man was driving around near Española Pathways Shelter with a rifle sticking out of the window, threatening to kill people.
2:54 p.m. A woman tried to avoid an elk that ran in front of her vehicle in Cañones and hit a tree when she swerved to avoid the elk.
3:09 p.m. A caller wanted to file a report for a stolen deposit. She said the staff at Burger King is holding her check because of the missing $900 deposit.
3:53 p.m. An overdose was reported at Española Pathways Shelter. CPR was performed and two doses of Narcan were administered.
4:06 p.m. A caller said a woman in Lyden is selling dope.
4:12 p.m. A Hernandez caller reported her underage daughter is trying to leave the house without permission.
4:53 p.m. A Vista del Valle caller said a man and a woman are rummaging through a semi truck.
5:32 p.m. A caller reported a man in a truck had a beer in his hand and was driving recklessly near Chamita.
5:36 p.m. A man was hitting a woman near North McCurdy Road and Bellas Lane and knocked her out.
6:07 p.m. A Calle Cunyo caller said the neighbor is letting “vagrants” drive down the embankment, to a abandoned trailer.
7:03 p.m. A shirtless man was walking up and down Middle San Pedro Road, yelling.
8:10 p.m. A vehicle was burglarized at the Española Hospital.

5:56 a.m. A possibly dead person was being dropped off at the Española Hospital emergency room.
7:48 a.m. An overdose was reported at Casitas de San Pedro. One dose of Narcan was administered.
8:39 a.m. A caller said someone was in the Center Market parking lot, breaking into cars.
10:04 a.m. A woman went to the Española Police Department to speak with an officer about harassment.
10:37 a.m. An Alcalde caller said two stray dogs on his property were chewing up his trampoline.
11:26 a.m. A San Pedro Sonic caller reported a vehicle is parked in stall #7 and there’s constant foot traffic from the Motel 6 to the vehicle. The caller asked the driver to leave, but he’s still there.
1:33 p.m. A 14-year-old girl left Peak Behavioral Health and they couldn’t find her.
3:38 p.m. A woman said a bus hit her from behind at the Española Middle School.
3:50 p.m. A Hernandez caller reported a small brush fire on the side of the road in Hernandez. He said he put it out, but it’s still smoldering.
4:58 p.m. A Dollar General caller said a man was carrying a box full of stolen items and walking near Cook’s Home Improvement.
5:15 p.m. A caller reported two men and a woman were physically fighting on North Railroad Avenue.
5:36 p.m. A rolling domestic was reported on U.S. Highway 64.
7:10 p.m. The 988 hotline reported a call from a suicidal man at the Santa Claran Casino Hotel.
9:12 p.m. A caller said six or seven people are trying to set up tents in the field at the end of Carr Lane.

Feb. 27
4:50 a.m. An abandoned trailer in Hernandez was on fire and fully engulfed.
6:47 a.m. A caller said she got a call from a woman who was yelling and screaming hysterically and asked her to call the police. The woman was involved in a domestic situation and had black eyes and multiple cuts.
6:55 a.m. A caller said a man walking on Calle Quintana and Calle Las Tunas is walking with a dolly and trash bags. He also had a blowtorch and was smoking in the street.
7:17 a.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a man lying on the side of the road in Velarde with a walker next to him.
8:35 a.m. An AutoZone caller said a woman in a car was screaming at them, saying she really wanted to hurt someone.
8:45 a.m. An Abiquiú Inn caller reported a truck has been parked there for a day-and-a-half and it doesn’t belong to any guests or employees.
9:20 a.m. A structure fire was reported in Hernandez.
3:40 p.m. A caller said a motorcycle pulled up to Allsups and the rider and people in a car appeared to be exchanging drugs.
6:35 p.m. A Tierra Amarilla caller reported a woman stole items from his property.
7:20 p.m. A man was arrested for DWI in Hernandez.
7:57 p.m. A caller reported a car driving fast on Fairview Lane. One person was arrested for DWI.
9:09 p.m. A Hernandez caller said her stepmother left a note saying not to check the back room, but to call the police. A woman was found in the house with a gunshot wound to the head and the Office of the Medical Investigator was called.
10:05 p.m. A woman went to EPD to speak with an officer because another woman threatened her at a basketball game.
10:19 p.m. A Pizza 9 caller said a man was pepper-sprayed and his eyes are irritated.
