James Lewis Munkres,
age 68, a resident of Española, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2009 unexpectedly. James is preceded in death by his parents, Ina Maude Rose and Murl Rose; maternal grandparents Della Cullender and Jim Cullender. James was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed it literally till he couldn’t get around much anymore. James found peace being outdoors and kept to himself as he enjoyed his solitude. He was a member of the La Puebla Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Vikki Sue Whitney and son, James Lester Munkres both of Española. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at DeVargas Funeral Home and Crematory.
