The Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation will host its 12th Annual Banquet Aug. 15 at the Ohkay Casino Resort Hotel.
This fund-raising event will be held in honor of United States Sen. Pete Domenici (R-NM) and all proceeds will support the Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund.
In 2008, the LANL Foundation established the Senator Pete Domenici Endowed Scholarship Fund to honor the senator’s 36 years of public service to New Mexico and the country. Through gifts from the corporate and private sector, as well as proceeds raised from the banquet, the Foundation hopes to endow one $10,000 scholarship in each of the seven Northern New Mexico counties of Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe and Taos.
The banquet will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and tickets and sponsorship packages are still available ranging from $150 to $25,000.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Foundation Center for Educational and Nonprofit Leadership in Espanola will precede the banquet.
