As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to an end, we reflect and honor the rich contributions of Hispanics to the fabric of our great nation. From our doctors and engineers to our essential workers and military service members, Hispanic families are the heartbeat of New Mexico and America. Yet, in recent years, the very American Dream that inspired so many of their ancestors has come under attack.
Like many Americans, Hispanics today are struggling under the weight of an economy that has left them living paycheck to paycheck. Under Senator Martin Heinrich’s failed leadership, skyrocketing inflation has made groceries, gas, and housing unaffordable, while credit card debt hits record highs. In New Mexico, Heinrich has spent two decades failing to address key issues, leaving the state grappling with rising violent crime and a broken education system.
Our children deserve to walk to school safely, and our communities should be protected from the threats of fentanyl, cartels, and human trafficking. Yet, under Heinrich’s watch, crime has worsened, and the border remains unsecured. We need common-sense solutions to secure our streets, to give law enforcement the resources they need, and to stop the flow of dangerous drugs and human trafficking across our border.
New Mexico consistently ranks at the bottom of national education rankings. Parents and students should have real options in their education, whether through traditional K-12 public, charter, parochial or magnet or vocational schools that prepare students for high-paying, in-demand careers. If elected, I support aggressive improvements to our state’s education system, that will promote competition and empower parents, so all children have an opportunity to succeed.
As we celebrate the cultural heritage of New Mexico, we must also demand policies that uplift our future generations. What New Mexico needs is new leadership. My campaign is about creating a New Day in New Mexico—a day where we restore the hope of achieving the American Dream for every Hispanic family.
As a businesswoman with deep roots in New Mexico, I am committed to protecting our communities, securing our borders, and providing educational opportunities for every child. Hispanic families deserve policies that foster job creation, higher wages, and economic growth, while also ensuring lower taxes and less wasteful spending in Washington to put more money back in your pockets.
As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to an end and early voting starts, let’s remember our shared history and look toward a future filled with hope, opportunity, and the promise of the American Dream. I hope you will vote the person and not the party. It would mean so much to me to have your vote.
