Cut to the chase

Let’s cut to the chase. Joseph “Joe” Salazar is the candidate to vote for in the Española City Council District 4 race.

Hands down, Joseph is already a community leader and given a seat on the Council, he will fight for what is right for our citizens and our city. We have seen him in action as he tackles tough issues as a volunteer community organizer.

We often see qualified individuals shy away from public service because of the time, commitment and dedication that is required of them. Not Joseph. He is always willing to serve, ask for community input and collaboratively seek solutions that will make a difference.

As an accountant with a MBA, Joseph instructed students as a graduate assistant. Graduating Phi Kappa Phi from New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU), Joseph served as VP of the Business Honors Society, and a NMHU Student Senator. Joseph worked his way up the career ladder in state government and is proud of his many successes as well as those of his employees.

Joe surpasses others in his knowledge of governmental accounting. Throughout his career he led others and learned to effect positive changes to the City’s financial reporting systems. This is his biggest strength, but don’t be fooled. Joseph also has extensive work experience in grand writing, auditing, and program management.

Elect the candidate that will move Española forward and help break the gridlock.

Share that info

They would send a $35.00 statement for an annual fee and I would send payment. The current subscription was paid until May 2024.

The last three weeks I did not receive my copy of the paper and I visited the office. I was informed by a woman that was in the office that I could not recive the paper because if I wanted the additional copies due until May, I had to pay for them.

Obviously a customer I was not informed of the current change of the price on a weekly copy.

That is not a way to do business with the public. I quit the subscription that day.

If you are doing to impose changes make your customers aware of them.

Mud-slinging

Here we are at another election year, and the mud slinging has started. I had never given much thought to the corruption involved in politics until Hilary Clinton was running against Donald Trump for president. All the trump-up charges the democratic party was inventing and charing Donald Trump with.

I remeber every day the democrats were trying to criminalize Trump with tax payer money for a yer or more, and they still are.

When Joe Biden came in as president the truck and delivery industry came to a halt, which in turn started the prices of everything to accelerate. Then the pandemic came about and the Biden administartors imposed mandatory rules taking peoples rights away from them. They dictated to people to wear masks, no closer than 6 feet between people, mandating the Covid vaccine, they closed down businesses that they determined were non-essential; people weren’t allowed to get together at church.

I never realized until then, how easy the government can have full control over the people. Something to think about when making up your mind on who to vote for.

I am going to write some quotes that people should think about and keep in mind.

When the people fear the Government there is tyranny; when the Government fears the people there is Liberty. — Thomas Jefferson

Freedom is never more than one generation away from exitnction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the blood stream. It must be fougth for, protected, and handed down for them to do the same. — Ronald Reagan

What a good fortune; for those in power, that people do not think. — Adolph Hitler

Salazar is

his choice

I have known Joseph “Joe” Salazar, candidate for City Council, District 4, for over 20 years. I know that he is the right choice for this position. Joseph will work on behalf of the citizens of Española, not for personal gain or to move on to the next elected position. Joseph knows how to collaborate and work with others to reach consensus and move projects forward.

Joseph is actively involved in the community. While working on his campaign, he continues to work on his other volunteer responsibilities. His unwavering work ethic is refreshing and remains his greatest asset. He has had discussions with community leaders regarding their concerns, helping to find solutions.

As a retired accountant for the State of New Mexico, Joseph also has extensive experience in the legislative process, testifying before various committees under key administrations. He understands the importance and responsibilities of government.

Joseph understands the need for economic development in the valley. He is a champion for

change that makes sense and that will increase the city’s gross receipt taxes which pays for many services. His 5-Point Plan calls for transparency at City Hall, financial accountability and public safety through additional funding, supporting our first responders, bringing in needed water lines and wastewater systems to city residents, and creating housing developments for residents at all income levels. A vote for Joseph is a vote for leadership in action.

Endorsing

Felicia

I am writing this letter to endorse Felicia “Fish” Archuleta-Toya, who is running for City Council in District 3. I have known Felicia my entire life, and I have always been impressed by her leadership skills.

She has consistently excelled in every endeavor she has undertaken, from earning straight A’s in elementary through high school to being named one of the Santa Fe Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 40 Under 40 honorees and serving on various other boards.

Felicia’s passion for community service, youth empowerment, and economic development make her well-suited to work with the residents of our city, other city council members, and government officials to address the major issues facing our community. diBecause she is both business- and community-minded, I am convinced that Felicia Archuleta-Toya is the best candidate for City Council District 3.
