Lupita Jackson, 73, of Amarillo, TX died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008.Rosary was said Oct. 24, in Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home Benton Chapel, Amarillo, with the Rev. Nicholas Gerber officiating. Mass was celebrated Saturday, Oct. 25, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial was in Llano Cemetary.Mrs. Jackson was born Nov. 16, 1934, in San Juan Pueblo, NM, where she was raised. She graduated from high school at Santa Fe Indian School in 1954 and also graduated from nursing school. She married Arnes Jackson on May 29, 1958, in Flagstaff, AZ. She had been a resident of Amarillo since 1963.Lupita was a woman of strength, beauty and compassion. She loved her family and friends with every once of her being, and her constancy and devotion touched the lives of all who knew her. She was proud of her heritage as part of the San Juan Pueblo. She was known for her cooking, entertaining and being a perfect hostess. She was the center of the Jackson clan and the organizer of the family’s social gatherings, which she arranged with love and a commitment to family unity. She was full of laughter and good wishes, which she was happy to share with anyone who crossed her path. Lupita’s faithfulness to the church was shared with her family through her evident dedication to her beliefs, but she also shared her faith with parishioners through her years of work in the church community and her dependability as a prayer warrior for all who reached out to her. Lupita will be deeply missed and always remembered by her family and friends.She was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Phillips; a great-grandson, Quinten Phillips; a great-granddaughter, Kassie Phillips; a sister, Hazel Short and husband Roy; two brothers Juan B. Aguino and Diego Aguino; a nephew, Kelly Miller.Survivors include her husband, Arnes Jackson; three daughters, Karen Bralley and husband Bob of Hot springs, S.D., Carol Davis and husband James and Sammie James and husband Jason, all of Amarillo; five sisters, Florence Lujan, Josephine Martinez and Pauline Aguino, all of San Juan Pueblo, Marquitta Elliott and husband George, of Clara, Okla., and Sandra Hutchens and husband Roger of Amarillo; and two brothers Frank aguino and wife Povi of Albuquerque, NM and Patrick Aguino of San Juan Pueblo.The family suggests memorials to Building Fund, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1200 S.
