Maria Eliza Rael,
age 94, a resident of Vallecitos, N.M. passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Rael Sr.; sons, Leroy and Ronnie Rael; father and mother, Felipe and Manuelita Gurule; brothers, Jose Pedro, Guillermo and Nabor; sisters, Talpita, Herminia and Bersabe. Eliza had a very warm heart, always very loving and giving. She was a great cook, making great tortillas and fried potatoes. She always got along with her neighbors. She was a hard worker always keeping a vegetable and flower garden. She was the greatest mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Eliza is survived by her sons, Eddie Rael and wife Tillie of Taos, Dan Rael Jr. and wife Albinita of South Gate, CA., Gilbert Rael and wife Evelyn of Albuquerque, Cloveo Rael and wife Olivia of Vallecitos, Elias Rael of Vallecitos and Joe Rael and wife Katie of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Alex, Eddie Jr., Sharon, Danetta, Louis, Valerie, Irene, Beverly, Corina, Bernadette, Eliza, Leslye, Brian, Brenton and Jolene; 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Special thanks to Fedelia Jaramillo goddaughter for handling a lot of the necessary arrangements, also special thanks to Abel Valdez, he was always there for her and for the family, she loved him like a son. Many nieces, nephews, and many friends. Public visitation was Sunday, June 14, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Maria de Dolores Catholic Church in Vallecitos. Interment follow at the Vallecitos Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Leslye Rael, Brian Rael, Eddie Rael, Alex Rael, Alex Leyba and Dennis Tim Salazar. Honorary pallbearers are all her grandchildren.
