The 2009-2010 fishing season begins April 1.
Anglers will need to purchase a new fishing license for the new season when the 2008-2009 license expires March 31.
The cost of a New Mexico resident fishing license is $25 and remains the same as last season. Anglers will also need to purchase a $5 habitat improvement stamp and a $4 habitat and access validation stamp. Anglers wishing to fish with two rods at the same time will need a $4 second rod stamp.
A nonresident season fishing license costs $56, while the costs of the stamps are the same for New Mexico residents and nonresidents.
The only major change in regulations this season is one requiring anglers on the Quality Waters of the San Juan River to use no more than two flies with barbless hooks.
