To Be Avenged

Monday, June 29

    • 10:15 a.m. — A State Road 74 caller said someone called her saying they were coming over at 12 p.m. to give her prize money she had won, but she needed to pay $200 in processing fees. She called the Better Business Bureau, who told her to file a fraud report.

    • 1:12 p.m. — A Rio Arriba County Road 1 caller said he was making pancakes with his girlfriend when they heard a noise and discovered a man inside a camper trailer. The trailer belonged to the caller’s friend, who was in the hospital. Police contacted the man inside the trailer, who said he didn’t know the guy was in the hospital and wouldn’t go there anymore.

    • 3:34 p.m. — A County Road 86 caller said he was driving through Chimayó when a man got out of a car and punched him in the face. He said if he saw that person again, he would shoot him. No report was taken.

    • 9:14 p.m. — A Villa del Norte Apartments caller said her neighbor borrowed her spare tire. The caller tried to get it back but was afraid the neighbor would do something to her car. It turned out it was the wrong tire and the neighbor forced it on and couldn’t get it off. 

    • 10:19 p.m. — A State Road 74 caller said a man appeared drunk and was asking for water, a phone and a ride. He couldn’t be found by law enforcement officers.

Man Wants Woman Removed from Bed

Tuesday, June 30

    • 8 a.m. — A Calle don Alfredo caller said he caught an old friend stealing from his car. The caller said his friend took the face off his car stereo and CDs. Police took a report.

    • 9:48 a.m. — A Western Holiday Motel manager said a couple stayed there, stole his towels and pillows and left syringes behind. No report was wanted.

    • 8:23 p.m. — A County Road 59A caller said he wanted his drunk girlfriend removed from his bed. Police took a report for an unwanted person.

    • 10:21 p.m. — A County Road 5 caller said her son was talking loudly to himself and appeared to be under the influence of something. Police made contact with him and determined he was just upset because his girlfriend broke up with him. He said he was going to make a scrambled egg and sleep in his vehicle.

Wednesday, July 1

    • 8:54 a.m. — A female caller said a man, whom her ex-boyfriend kicked out of the house, called and threatened her. Police took a report for harassment.

    • 12:12 p.m. — A Boomerang Thrift Store caller said a man called and said he would be stopping by the store because he heard they sell vibrating sex stools. He asked for information about the attachments and strength of vibration. No report was taken. 

    • 3:56 p.m. — A Long John Silver’s employee said a man was walking around the restaurant asking people if they were selling drugs. No report was taken.

    • 9:34 p.m. — An El Llano caller said he and his brother were drunk, and his brother threw a rock at him. They were advised to sleep off their intoxication.

Dog Killer Plants Weed

Thursday, July 2

    • 6:58 p.m. — A County Road 423 caller said a man killed her dog five days before, and came to her house to stay the night. She said she suspected he was planting marijuana on her property. Police left a message for animal control. 

    • 8:55 p.m. — An El Valle Insurance agent said he wanted an employee removed from the business because he was fired and was having a verbal confrontation. Police assisted.

Friday, July 3

    • 12:13 p.m. — A caller said there were two naked people in the Wal-Mart parking lot. An officer found that they were sitting on a bench, and the man was groping the woman.

    • 9 p.m. — A caller said she put $26 into the gas pump at Allsup’s, and it only dispensed $3 worth of gas.

    • 10:35 p.m. — An Arlo’s food stand caller said a man threw a chair at the stand. He couldn’t be found by police.

Incessant Knocking

Saturday, July 4

    • 7:40 p.m. — A Villa del Norte apartments caller said a man had been knocking on her window since 4 a.m. and she wanted officers to tell him to leave her alone. Officers had a talk with him. 

    • 10:58 p.m. — A Lopez Lane caller said his girlfriend was getting calls that her ex-boyfriend wanted to beat him up.

Fireworks Rampant

Sunday, July 5

    • 12:20 a.m. — A Calle Rosario caller said she was just involved in a verbal altercation with a man, and he was calling her.

    • 1:43 a.m. — A North Railroad Avenue caller said some people were lighting fireworks all over the area.

    • 8:01 a.m. — A Hunter Street caller said the back door to a trailer at the old Española seventh grade school was unsecured but nothing was taken. It was determined the owner went camping and didn’t secure the door.

    • 5:55 p.m. — A Popay Avenue caller said a man was causing problems with his mother. He said the man left on foot but his mother was very distraught. She refused to be checked by paramedics.

    • 7:27 p.m. — A Las Lomas Apartments caller said some people were in front of El Paragrua Restaurant shooting off fireworks. Police couldn’t find them. 

    • 10:42 p.m. — A Walnut Drive caller said his neighbors were having a firework contest.

    • 11:42 p.m. — A Highway 285 caller said his girlfriend took his wallet, which contained $1,000, and his remote. The call was transferred.
