Parents Just Don’t Understand
Monday, May 30
• 1:38 a.m. — A Hindi Avenue caller said his neighbors were harassing him and threatening to gang up on him. He called back later, stating a man punched him in the mouth.
• 2:41 a.m. — A County Road 93 caller said his son was drunk, was insisting on driving a vehicle and was mistreating his parents.
• 9:19 a.m. — A Rio Chama Chevron caller said he shot himself in the left leg at his ranch. He said his wife was driving him to the emergency room.
• 12:44 p.m. — A Lowe’s SuperSave caller said a man was running after a woman who stole his wallet.
• 3:49 p.m. — A Sunrise Ceramics caller said a man was dragging a woman by the throat “with his car.” The woman had left the area with her mother and the caller said she would check to see if the victim wanted to make a report.
• 8:43 p.m. — An El Caballo Quino Drive caller said he was robbed. The caller said he was sleeping and woke up with someone standing over him. The caller said there were two men, one of whom was covered in tattoos with a teardrop tattooed under his left eye, and one woman. They left in a brown Honda two-door car. The caller said he was missing an older-model Phillips television.

Tuesday, May 31
• 4:18 a.m. — An Española Valley High School caller said her boyfriend pulled her out of her sister’s white Ford Explorer and stole it.
• 4:23 a.m. — A South Prince Drive caller trapped two dogs that killed four of his chickens.
• 9:18 a.m. — A Highway 68 caller at a gaming commission building said someone threw a rock at one of his employees and the employee’s face was cut open.
• 10:28 a.m. — A South Riverside Drive caller said radios out of two of his buses were stolen along with about 500 gallons of diesel. The caller said some windows were broken on the buses.
• 9:06 p.m. — An El Llano Road caller said his home was burglarized. He said he came home from work to find someone stole steel, aluminum and tools from him.
• 9:08 p.m. — A Calle Duran caller said there were 10 to 12 people fighting outside. He said one of the men in the fight was armed with a gun.
• 9:56 p.m. — A Vista Del Rio Apartments caller said his wife had a restraining order on him and left an eight-page letter on his doorstep. He wanted the court to know about the letter.
Tip: Rubbing Alcohol is Poison
Wednesday, June 1
• 1:51 a.m. — A Private Drive 1032 caller said he drank rubbing alcohol and was feeling nauseated. He said he drank the rubbing alcohol because he ran out of beer. The caller said he vomited and felt like he was going to die. The Alcalde Fire Department responded to the call.
• 12:57 p.m. — A Blake’s Lota Burger East caller said she was getting harassing telephone calls from her brother for the last day. The man was using profane language and threatening to kill his brother if he did not respond to him.
• 1:44 p.m. — A DeVargas Funeral home caller said a strong chemical smell was coming from the prep room. He said it smelled like ammonia, but stronger. He took one smell of it, he said, and it “penetrated” his lungs. The building was ventilated following the call.
• 7:29 p.m. — A Lower San Pedro Road caller complained about loud music coming from a party. Police stated the party was for a child and there were clowns there. The music was turned down once the police arrived.

Thursday, June 2
• 12:13 a.m. — An Ohkay Casino caller said his friend was being jumped in the casino lounge.
• 9:01 a.m. — A County Road 136B caller said her neighbors were throwing rocks at each other.
• 10:19 a.m. — A County Road 83 caller said her car was stolen in January and crushed at Gallegos recycling. She said the suspect for this theft was dead.
• 10:27 a.m. — A Crown Liquors caller said someone was in her car choking on a piece of meat. She said she performed the Heimlich maneuver and now the patient was OK. She said they did not need an ambulance.
• 11:31 a.m. — A Body and Soul Tattoo store caller said the owner of the store took a woman there last night and she stole video games, clothing and hair spray.
• 11:48 a.m. — A Sombra De Luna caller said he found a sick squirrel in his home. The call was transferred to the Santa Fe call center.
• 2:17 p.m. — A Cook’s Mobile Home Park caller said a man was being hit by his wife and daughter.
• 2:49 p.m. — A Wal-Mart caller said a man in the store put on a new shirt and had jerky tucked in his waistline. The man ran from the store.
Panhandler Offers Lady a Drink
Friday, June 3
• 7:27 a.m. — A North McCurdy Road caller said a man was loading her neighbor’s rock into his truck and she said he’s not supposed to be doing that. The man claimed he had permission from the owner to clean up the property.
• 11:53 a.m. — A West Jonathon Drive caller said there was a drunk male inside the soup kitchen. The man was trespassing because he was told he could not come there.
• 1:05 p.m. — A North Orchard Lane caller said she heard a knock at the door and did not answer it. She later heard a noise in the bedroom and saw a man standing there. The man ran away and nothing appeared to be stolen.
• 1:32 p.m. — A San Pedro Shell station caller said a man asked her for a dollar and when she refused he kicked her car and threw a bottle of whiskey at her.
• 3:21 p.m. — A Wal-Mart caller said someone stole his wife’s purse from her cart while she was in the photo section.
• 6:08 p.m. — A Las Lomas Apartments caller said someone put expanding insulation foam in her car’s tail pipe.
Another Amazing Boyfriend
Saturday, June 4
• 1:32 a.m. — A Calle Redondo caller said a man invited a woman over and she stole his wallet, which had about $840 inside.
• 9:06 a.m. — A McDonald’s caller said a drunk man was inside the store yelling. The caller did not know at whom the man was yelling.
• 10:33 a.m. — A Top Nails caller said he got into an argument with another man, who pulled a knife out on him.
• 10:45 a.m. — A Calle De Pajarito caller said her daughter’s boyfriend was hitting her. The woman was about eight months pregnant. The couple left before police could arrive. Juveniles said the man dragged the woman in the car by her hair and drove away.
• 10:58 a.m. — A Highway 285 caller said a man tried to commit suicide by hanging himself, but they got him down. The man took off running, slipped and somehow cut his throat, which was bleeding slowly. The man was standing by an officer, pressing a clean rag to his neck.
• 11:59 a.m. — A San Pedro Plaza caller said a man was trying to sell turtles, which the caller did not think was legal. He was told the man would need a permit and health records before he could sell the turtles.
Stranded in Española
Sunday, June 5
• 12:07 a.m. — A State Road 233 caller said she heard gunshots by the bridge. A deputy could not find anything suspicious.
• 12:24 a.m. — A Hindi Avenue caller said he and his girlfriend were stranded in Española and had nowhere to go.
• 10:27 a.m. — A caller at the fire station on La Joya Street said the station was broken into and a television and radio were missing. Police later learned there was no burglary and the items were out getting fixed.
• 2:41 p.m. — A Lowe’s SuperSave caller complained someone was selling pit bull puppies in the parking lot.
• 2:42 p.m. — An Española Hospital caller reported she was assaulted the night before and both of her handguns were missing.
• 8:12 p.m. — A San Pedro Shell station caller said someone stole a 30-pack of Budweiser and ran toward Dandy Burger.
• 8:38 p.m. — A Walgreens caller said she saw a screaming woman being held in the back of a beige minivan by a man.
• 10:08 p.m. — A Santa Clara Apartments caller said there were some homeless people inside the lobby and he wanted them removed. The homeless people left.
