Terrier’s Identity
Mistaken
Monday, April 13
• 10:06 a.m. — A caller said a woman at Garcia Tires had a terrier that the caller thought was hers. The alleged dog-napper was irate and wouldn’t let her see the dog, the caller said. The suspect called and said a woman was accusing her of taking her dog, but she had its papers. When police arrived, the original caller said she didn’t want the dog anymore.
• 2:32 p.m. — A caller said a man and woman parked behind the Conoco KFC were arguing, and the woman was telling the man to get out of the car, but he refused. The couple admitted to having an argument but said they were cooling down.
• 5:18 p.m. — A Private Drive 1504 caller said his brother was threatening to come to his house and beat him with a bat. The call was transferred to another agency.
Elusive Stalker
Tuesday, April 14
• 3:55 a.m. — A West Roman Drive caller said when she woke up to get some juice she found her back door was open and it appeared someone was trying to get into her house. She said she had been dealing with a male stalker. Police found the residence was secure but no stalker.
• 5:04 p.m. — A caller said a Coyote resident who has a 2-month-old child, was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and had been convicted of murder in California. Police couldn’t verify that he was an ex-convict, and found everything was OK.
• 10:37 p.m. — A State Road 76 caller said her ex-husband was taking all the stuff out of the house. They were advised it was a civil matter.
• 11:06 p.m. — A La Joya Street caller said someone in a green Pontiac Grand Am poured something on her car. Police took a report.

Wednesday, April 15
• 1:14 a.m. — A caller said he went to get money out of the CU Anytime ATM machine and the bottom of the machine was open, so he didn’t try to get money out. The machine was found to be secure, although its cover was off.
• 10:49 a.m. — The La Joya Street caller from the previous night said she found a beer bottle that was going to be used to light her car on fire. Police returned to the scene twice but the caller wasn’t there, so when she called again they told her to go to the station to make a report.
• 4:55 p.m. — A caller said someone wearing camouflage was trying to fight someone selling trees across from the Giant gas station. The camouflaged man was detoxed.
• 10:03 p.m. — A Calle Aguilar caller said his sister was throwing stuff, including a computer, around the house. Police assisted the caller.
• 11:31 p.m. — A Rio Arriba County Road 87 caller said a girl was “tripping,” then hung up. Police called back and left a message.

Thursday, April 16
• 3:39 a.m. — The West Roman Drive caller, who had reported the stalker, said someone was trying to push in her door. She said a stalker had been calling her and leaving things on her door. She said she was standing by her back door with a knife, smoking. She was advised to put away the knife, and police found no evidence of criminal activity at the scene.
• 6:39 a.m. — A County Road 42 caller said her 15-year-old son, who is on probation, was going crazy punching her vehicle. He was picked up by State Police.
• 9:16 a.m. — An Española Military Academy caller said one female cadet was threatening another. The issue was resolved without law enforcement intervention.
• 1:27 p.m. — A caller said a Taco Bell manager threw a Coca-Cola at her. Police took a report for assault.
• 6:08 p.m. — A caller said a station wagon was all over Highway 84/285 near the Dreamcatcher Cinema. The driver was pulled over and failed field sobriety tests. When her blood was being drawn for testing, the female suspect pulled the needle out of her arm and tried to poke the technician with it.

Friday, April 17
• 1:57 a.m. — A State Road 68 caller said a man who has a bad temper and takes anger management classes was upset because someone didn’t lend him a phone. No report was taken.
• 6:10 a.m. — A caller said someone heading toward El Rito in a gray Chrysler stole his cell phone, and if nothing was done, he would take the law into his own hands. The female suspect claimed not to have the phone, and the caller was advised it was a civil matter.
• 10:54 a.m. — A Private Drive 1447 caller said a homeless man made a teepee on a small piece of land between two mobile homes, and she didn’t want him near her house. Police talked to the man, who had a makeshift tent made of brick, and he told them it was his father’s property and he was going to set up a house there.
Suture Kit Snatched
Saturday, April 18
• 2:31 a.m. — A County Road 1 caller said a car full of gangsters was riding around and one was squealing his tires. The call was transferred to another agency.
• 10:23 a.m. — An Albuquerque caller said his brother was mentally unstable and threatening his elderly parents on El Llano Road with a .357 magnum. Police checked on the parents, who were fine and said they hadn’t seen the suspect in about two weeks. Police made contact with the suspect, who was sleeping at home. He said he and his brother were fighting over ownership of a gun.
• 12:49 p.m. — An Española Hospital caller said a patient stole suturing instruments. Police took
a report for theft.
Moving Gravel
A Bad Idea
Sunday, April 19
• 10:09 a.m. — An Angel Duran Drive caller said a man was taking gravel off the road. “I’m going to talk to this male,” an officer told 911 dispatchers, “I know he is trying to do good but people are getting mad because he is throwing dirt and rocks into their yard.” Everyone involved went to City Hall to clear up the situation.
• 2:50 p.m. — A State Road 76 caller said a couple came onto her property, and her dog bit the man. She said the man said he was leaving to get a shotgun. She said she did have a sign that said “Beware of Dog.” The man, who was from Wisconsin, didn’t go to the hospital, and police determined it was a misunderstanding and no threat was made.
• 7:11 p.m. — A County Road 40 caller said his aunt, who lives next door to him, stole his dog. A second caller said the first caller and her husband threw rocks through their car windshield and broke it and was shooting at their bedroom. She said the man was yelling and saying he would chop off her and her husband’s heads. After talking to both parties, police found no evidence to support their allegations, and told them that if they were called to the scene again everyone would be arrested for making a false report.
