School Can’t Handle Unruly Students
Monday, Sept. 21
• 1:36 a.m. — A Calle Sierra Vista caller requested police remove a suspicious female from outside her house. Police couldn’t find the woman.
• 1:23 p.m. — Police were summoned to Española Elementary to deal with “unruly and obnoxious” children.
Run from the Border
Tuesday, Sept. 22
• 11:31 a.m. — Taco Bell staff said a disgruntled employee was refusing to leave and making a scene in front of the business. The suspect attempted to grab the caller but the caller shrugged her off. Police took a report for battery.
• 12:55 p.m. — A Big Rock Casino caller said someone broke into an arcade machine and stole coins. The suspect was captured on surveillance footage, the caller said.
• 3:44 p.m. — A Wendy’s employee said a man wearing a cowboy hat was panhandling and claiming to be a veteran.
Move This Wood
Wednesday, Sept. 23
• 2:28 a.m. — A Private Drive 1538 caller said dogs were barking, and when he let his Chihuahua out, it seemed to be chasing someone.
• 1:34 p.m. — A caller said a woodcutter blocked a forest road with wood and wouldn’t let hunting parties pass. The call was transferred to the forest service.
• 5:13 p.m. — A caller said a construction sign in the roadway on State Road 76 damaged his vehicle. He said he complained to construction workers who said they didn’t put the sign there and were not responsible.
One Person’s Porch, Another’s Bathroom
Thursday, Sept. 24
• 1:52 a.m. — A caller said she and some female passengers picked up a drunk man at Club Lumina who needed a ride home. When the group approached Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo, he said he didn’t know where he lived and started groping the driver. She said they wanted him out of the vehicle. The women managed to get him out before police arrived, and they couldn’t find him.
• 7:48 a.m. — A Rio Arriba County Road 10 caller said someone stole the propane tank off his travel trailer, and he suspected his neighbor.
• 4:12 p.m. — A Chama caller said someone was sleeping on her porch and using it as a lavatory. Police attempted to find the man, a known homeless person.
• 5:34 p.m. — A Private Drive 1014A caller said her mother broke a bottle on her head while they were drinking together. She said she didn’t need an ambulance. State Police were contacted.
• 7 p.m. — A State Road 150 caller said his son, who hadn’t been taking his medication for Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome, was trying to hit him with a pool cue. The son left before police arrived.

Friday, Sept. 25
• 7:49 a.m. — A Private Drive 1331 caller said someone stole his water hose and was spray-painting his house.
• 4:01 p.m. — A Shoe Department caller said he was following a female shoplifter who stole a pair of K-Swiss shoes and ran into Chili’s Restaurant. She was apprehended while running toward Wal-Mart.
• 4:47 p.m. — A Jorgensen’s Custom Welding caller said a drunk man was taking his shirt off outside the establishment. When the caller asked him to leave, he became combative and tried to come back in the shop. The suspect was determined to be extremely drunk.
• 6:10 p.m. — A caller said someone was chasing her boyfriend and trying to hit his car at the Ohkay Express Mart.
• 10:35 p.m. — A Private Drive 1616A caller said her domestic partner was highly intoxicated and causing problems at the house. She wanted police to remove her.
Request for Cream Ends Badly
Saturday, Sept. 26
• 7:57 a.m. — A caller said an older man at the Rio Chama Chevron was harassing him and flipping him off.
• 1:00 p.m. — A Sesame Street caller said when she asked a man for her Oil of Olay cream, he threw a radio at her and started banging objects.
• 3:11 p.m. — A caller said she got an oil change at Wal-Mart, and they forgot to close the hood correctly, causing damage to her car as she drove away. Police documented the incident.
• 6:11 p.m. — A Calle Sierra Vista caller said a man came in the house saying he was his cousin and stole his tools, money and jewelry. Police took a report of the incident.
Evidence Eaten
Sunday, Sept. 27
• 11:52 a.m. — A Lowe’s Super Save caller said vendors outside the store were selling items without permission. He said one vendor was selling vegetables, in direct competition with the store.
• 6:35 p.m. — A Birch Lane caller said her son was banging on the doors attempting to get in the home. He couldn’t be found.
• 6:39 p.m. — A caller said he was receiving threatening text messages from his cousin while he was at Subway.
• 6:53 p.m. — An Ohkay Travel Center employee reported a theft. Police determined a man ate $5 worth of jerky.
