Puppy Stuck in Vent
Monday, Dec. 21
• 11:43 a.m. — A Chamita family said their dog, a small puppy the size of a Chihuahua, fell into a heater vent. They wanted animal control officers to help get it out.
• 1:18 p.m. — Three children, 3 or 4 years old, were reportedly playing on Highway 84/285 near the Rio Chama Chevron.
• 2:39 p.m. — A man seen lying on the ground and backing up traffic in the Big Rock Casino parking lot had awakened and was standing by the arcade machines, according to staff. He was detoxed.
• 3:13 p.m. — Two men picked a fight at the San Pedro Sonic, then drove away in a green 4×4, a caller reported.
• 4:19 p.m. — An employee caught embezzling at Wal-Mart became aggressive when confronted by managers, they said.
• 5:58 p.m. — A 16-year-old male reported missing by his parents turned up at his girlfriend’s house. Police called the girlfriend’s mother, who promised to return the boy.
• 8:12 p.m. – A green Jeep was driving recklessly around the Kentucky Fried Chicken parking lot, a caller said.
• 10:46 p.m. — A Santa Clara Drive woman said she had been receiving phone calls at the house of her recently-deceased father threatening to burn down his house.
• 11:51 p.m. — A group of six men were running around a Santo Niño home and yelling vulgarities, the owner reported.

Tuesday, Dec. 22
• 10:34 a.m. — Hacienda Home Center staff said a man driving a brown BMW had just stolen a drill press and taken off toward Chimayó. Once apprehended, the suspect requested medical attention for a hole in his leg.
• 12:09 p.m. — An Hernandez Family Dollar manager said one of her employees had locked himself inside the store because two men outside were harassing him.
• 12:17 p.m. A man and his brother said an Hernandez Family Dollar employee had chased them out of the store and hit them with a stick. Police took a report for aggravated battery.

Wednesday, Dec. 23
• 1:03 a.m. — A Hindi Lane woman said she and her husband had been drinking when he cut himself, accused her of cutting him and then took off.
• 11:34 a.m. — An unidentified driver knocked down a woman’s fence on Jemez View Street, she reported.
• 2:15 p.m. — A peddler trying to sell toys inside Burger King was making customers uncomfortable, a manager said.
• 10:40 p.m. — An Ensenada man in the middle of a divorce asked police to come remove his sister-in-law, who he said was refusing to leave after he asked politely three times.
‘Stuff’ Stolen
Thursday, Dec. 24
• 2:04 a.m. — An ex-husband kept harassing his ex-wife and children by phone, the ex-wife said. Police told him to knock it off.
• 4:06 a.m — A man apparently under the influence of narcotics was becoming irate with Allsup’s clerks, they reported.
• 3:45 p.m. — Club Tropicana staff suspected a man walking around the parking lot the past 10 minutes might be selling drugs, they said.
• 6:18 p.m. — A drunk Velarde man said someone stole “stuff” from his house when he was sleeping. Deputies told him to return after he sobered up.

Friday, Dec. 25
• 12:18 a.m. — A Pacheco Lane man said he could hear five or six people lurking outside his house and cocking their guns. When he told 911 dispatchers he was armed with a bat, they advised him to drop the bat and hide in a closet until police arrived. Police could not find any intruders.
• 11:57 a.m. — Police responding to a call of four or five men fighting outside the Santa Cruz Country Store arrived to find a group of people holding back a man in a white cowboy hat. No report was taken.
• 1:13 p.m. — A caller reported that someone threw a rock through a parishioner’s car window while she attended Christmas mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Police took a report for criminal damage.
• 10:30 p.m. — Two men supposedly selling drugs started fighting outside a mud-covered maroon Ford Explorer at the Giant gas station, a caller said. Police could not find anyone matching their description.
• 11:34 p.m. — Police were told to be on the lookout for a 13-year-old boy who took off with his mother’s car keys after an argument over his cell phone.

Saturday, Dec. 26
• 1:54 p.m. — Screams were coming from a Gordon Lane house, an anonymous caller said.
• 10:55 a.m. — A man who lives in a lopsided tan house with an American flag outside said he shot at his neighbor’s dogs with a shotgun because they got into his sheep. Police took a report and animal control removed a dead black Labrador retriever.
• 11:35 a.m. — A caller reported that a man tried unsuccessfully to sell him black tar heroin at gunpoint. The caller refused to tell police where the incident took place because he was with a friend who is still on probation.
• 9:54 p.m. — A Camino Carlos woman said her son’s ex-girlfriend broke her car window and was in the process of throwing over the fence all the toys and clothes the caller brought her grandson. Police took a report.
• 10:29 p.m. — A Wal-Mart employee was reportedly selling drugs outside the store.

Sunday, Dec. 27
• 1:13 a.m. — A Velarde woman’s sons got drunk and started fighting, she said.
• 10:04 a.m. — Two brothers who jointly own a house near Valley Superette were trying to get each other arrested for trespassing. Police told them they could not evict each other, because they were both owners.
• 11:54 a.m. — Neither police nor an anonymous caller could figure out what a drunk man walking down Riverside Drive planned to do with all the snow he was trying to pick up.
• 3:15 p.m. — Police told four children to stop shooting with air guns at passing cars.
