Ditch Fix
Monday, Oct. 5
• 9:13 a.m. — A man working on the new Dialysis Center at Calle de La Merced said a man showed up asking for a job and stole a battery charger.
• 1:44 p.m. — A Holy Cross Catholic School caller said a man with a long mustache was roaming the campus asking students for money.
• 4:40 p.m. — A North Orchard Drive caller said a tenant who was irate over not getting his deposit back broke some windows.
• 4:47 p.m. — A man was standing in a ditch full of water asking people as they walked by if they had a needle, a caller reported.
• 7:10 p.m. — A Shadowood Lane caller said someone was throwing eggs at her house.
• 9:29 p.m. — A man, who was rolling around on the ground on State Road 76, was with a man who declared he planned to jump in front of traffic, a caller reported.
BOLO For Drunk Hippie
Tuesday, Oct. 6
• 2:41 p.m. — An Española Hospital employee said an drunk woman, who looked like a hippie, was walking through a ditch on her way home from the hospital.
• 7:18 p.m. — An Orchard Drive caller said his brother abducted his heavily-medicated mother and took her to cut tomatoes. Police determined since the caller didn’t have power of attorney over the mother, he couldn’t dictate whether she was around the brother.
• 10:40 p.m. — A Private Drive 1027 caller said she threw her son out of the house, and he was sending her harassing text messages.
Run-in at the Methadone Clinic
Wednesday, Oct. 7
• 7:39 a.m. — A caller said she was afraid that an extremely large snake under her trailer would bite someone.
• 8:23 a.m. — An Una Ala Methadone Clinic client said a man she has a restraining order against was at the clinic at the same time that she was.
• 12:36 p.m. — A Rio Arriba County Road 58 caller said her water pump was stolen, and she thought she knew who did it.
• 2:38 — A woman made a walk-in report at State Police that she received at least 200 harassing phone calls.
Mouth Numb
Thursday, Oct. 8
• 1:16 p.m. — A State Road 76 caller said she wanted her husband arrested for calling her names.
• 3:29 p.m. — A Chamisa Street caller reported a cat was in a trap.
• 4:47 p.m. — A Po Pay Avenue caller said a poodle was being strangled by its collar.
• 5:53 p.m. — A State Road 76 caller said her ex-brother-in-law was harassing her by saying her trailer was on her ex-mother-in-law’s property.
• 7:17 p.m. — A North Pine Drive caller said her mouth was numb; she wanted to be checked out but didn’t want an ambulance. 911 dispatchers asked her repeatedly if she wanted an ambulance, but she said she was sorry but she didn’t, then hung up.
• 7:33 p.m. — A County Road 240 caller said her front tire was slashed twice, and she suspected her neighbor did it.
• 9:56 p.m. — A County Road 56 caller said she got a call from a drug dealer’s girlfriend, who was looking for the caller’s ex-boyfriend. She said she believed her ex-boyfriend may have “burned” the drug dealer, and she was afraid.
Coyote Justice
Friday, Oct. 9
• 9:01 a.m. — A caller said approximately 30 cows were blocking access to the Alcalde transfer station. The livestock inspector contacted Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo because the cows belonged to the tribe.
• 9:58 a.m. — A caller said he was gone for 45 minutes, and when he returned his TV was gone from his bedroom.
• 1:54 p.m. — A Coyote caller said a man was stealing from him, and his brother was holding the culprit there for officers. “Caller advised that he needed a State Police officer before he kills this person,” a 911 dispatcher noted. The call was transferred to State Police.
• 4:20 p.m. — A caller said there was a woman outside Dandy Burger wearing nothing but a white T-shirt and yelling at cars. She couldn’t be found.
• 4:26 p.m. — A Private Drive 1080 caller said he went for wood the other day and his truck wouldn’t start. He found sugar in the gas tank.
Druggie or Disabled?
Saturday, Oct. 10
• 4:03 a.m. — A Rancho Familia caller said an unknown person was jiggling the door handle.
• 12:36 p.m. — A County Road 2A caller said her landlord told her she had a couple of hours to get out or she would call Rio Arriba Magistrate Court Judge Alex Naranjo. The caller said she is disabled, but the landlord accused her of staying up all night doing drugs. Police on scene discovered she wanted her boyfriend to stay, and the landlord didn’t want him there.
• 7:05 p.m. — A Sunset Drive caller said her neighbor’s dog kept killing her animals. She didn’t want to speak to officers; she just wanted them to contact the neighbor. “I am going to her residence whether she likes it or not,” an officer said. The officer determined the situation was an ongoing issue and advised the woman to call if it happened again.

Sunday, Oct. 11
• 4:34 p.m. — A Shoe Department caller said a man in a white Lincoln mooned him and took off toward Chili’s. “A witness observed the incident,” an officer recorded in dispatch logs. “Male who is mooning is doing it out of the sun roof.”
• 5:43 p.m. — A caller said a gray cat had been stuck in a tree for five days.
• 11:22 p.m. — A County Road 131 caller said a motorcycle drove into her yard and left. She was advised police could patrol the area overnight, but she was not happy with that. She said she wanted something done about it. “At this point (the woman) got upset, started to argue and yell, advised we don’t know how to do our job and she was not happy that she was told to call on a non-emergency number when this is clearly an emergency,” dispatchers recorded.
