Española Police, Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Police, Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s deputies and State Police responded to the following calls:
Drunk and Indecent
Monday, Sept. 28
• 9:19 a.m. — A Vista Del Norte apartments caller said she confronted a man who took her vacuum three weeks prior, but he didn’t returned it. He couldn’t be found.
• 11:59 a.m. — A Works Salon caller said a man in a blue van was parked in front of the business and when the caller approached to tell him to move, the man quickly shut down his laptop computer. He was advised to move along.
• 4:00 p.m. — An Arroyo Seco Circle caller said her husband was outside acting crazy and threatening to break down the door. The call was transferred to State Police.
• 6:38 p.m. — A caller said a man walking on Fairview Lane appeared to be drunk and had his private parts exposed. Police passed by a few times but didn’t see the man doing anything wrong. He was given a ride home.
Really Small Kitten
Tuesday, Sept. 29
• 10:25 a.m. — A caller said there was a really small kitten in the Wal-Mart garden center and its mother was nowhere to be seen. Animal Control was dispatched to the scene.
• 12:45 p.m. — A McDonald’s employee requested a man doing drugs in the bathroom be removed from the business.
• 7:19 p.m. — A Calle Serrano caller said her daughter came home with a bottle of Bartles and Jaymes. Police went to the house where the child said she obtained the wine cooler and were given consent to search but found no alcohol.

Wednesday, Sept. 30
• 3:22 p.m. — An Alcalde Post Office employee said a man in a white Ford F-150 was masturbating outside the building. He couldn’t be found.
• 10:29 p.m. — A Private Drive 1056 caller said several people were yelling, “Stop, we are going to call the cops!” Police spotlighted the area but didn’t find anything.
Stalker Threatened
Thursday, Oct. 1
• 1:36 a.m. — A caller said a vehicle that was following them on State Road 68 didn’t have their lights on and almost collided with them.
• 2:14 p.m. — A State Road 76 caller said a man who was complaining of stomach pains gets violent when he is sick. He was taken to Española Hospital without incident.
• 3:06 p.m. — A woman made a walk-in complaint at the police station that while she was watching her boyfriend to see if he was going to get back together with his ex-girlfriend, the ex-girlfriend tried to attack her.
• 8:20 p.m. — A Private Drive 1610 caller said a man who was possibly under the influence of something drove into his yard and told him he was going to beat the “expletive” out of him. Police patrolled the area.
Can of Worms
Friday, Oct. 2
• 12:51 a.m. — A Martinez Lane caller said his wife was arguing with him because she wanted to start a fire and after drinking beer and jungle juice, was too intoxicated to do so. He said she tore his shirt and threw shoes at him. Police took a report.
• 2:18 a.m. — A Rio Arriba County Road 142 caller said a man appeared to be drunk, and people were “distraught and disturbed” because he was starting the bosque on fire. Dispatchers called the number back and spoke to the caller’s mother, who said her son was drunk and trying to get her other son in trouble for having a small fire for people with whom he was hanging out. The man called again, said he was disturbed because the bosque was on fire, and started screaming that he needed an officer “right now or else.” Police found nothing amiss at the residence.
• 8:12 a.m. — A County Road 41 caller said her daughter received a text message asking if she wanted to buy marijuana.
• 11:46 a.m. — Española Elementary staff said a fifth-grader hit a teacher with the door and was throwing markers at staff. The student was upset because he had to redo a test.
• 12:04 a.m. — A County Road 87 caller said her ex-boyfriend accused her of keying his car and therefore “opening up a can of worms.” She was advised to get a restraining order.
• 2:11 p.m. — A Calle Chacoma Vista caller said someone was stabbing her dogs with a nail and poking them with sticks. No report was taken.
• 2:43 p.m. — A Prince Drive caller said her son owed her money and refused to pay. After she was advised law enforcement couldn’t force him to pay, she started screaming that her son was calling her bad names and if that’s what it takes to get an officer to the house then so be it. Dispatch told her it’s against the law to make a false police report, and she started screaming to just send an officer. Then she hung up.
Drunk Daughter On Rampage
Saturday, Oct. 3
• 5:32 p.m. — A State Road 291 caller said a woman in a Toyota Camry was harassing and stalking him.
• 11:29 p.m. — An Upper San Pedro Road caller said her daughter was drunk and en route to the house to break in and get money. No report was taken.
Unwelcome Texan
Sunday, Oct. 4
• 7:10 a.m. — A Rio Vista Run caller said someone stole her riding lawn mower and tools.
• 10:54 a.m. — A Lindrith caller said a suspicious man from Austin, Texas, had been hanging around the area and sleeping in the Baptist church parking lot. He couldn’t be found by the authorities.
