The police blotter is published to give readers an abridged look at criminal activity in their community and neighborhood. It is simply an illustration of what local law enforcement, funded by taxpayers, must deal with daily throughout the Española Valley.

Street fight
June 26
12:34 a.m. A driver reported hitting a deer in Cañones.
5:26 a.m. An overdose was reported on El Guique Road.
7:41 a.m. A Camino de Roberto caller said a homeless man was harassing their dad by lighting a torch on fire.
10:11 a.m. A Lincoln Street caller went to tell people in five or six tents to leave and found an unresponsive person in one of the tents.
10:23 a.m. A Villa del Norte Apartments caller reported there’s a tent between the property and Center Market, in the empty lot, and the person inside is smoking a substance that’s going into their apartment.
11:02 a.m. A man’s death was reported in Coyote.
11:11 a.m. An overdose was reported in Hernandez after a man was found slumped over in a vehicle that hit a sign at an intersection.
11:15 a.m. A Bonafide Beauty Salon caller said a woman tore her belongings off the wall.
11:27 a.m. A Calle Redonda caller reported a man was walking around and possibly carrying a knife.
12:34 p.m. A man was on the ground at Speedway. It was determined he’d fallen and was bleeding from the head.
3:53 p.m. An Ohkay Casino caller reported a man jumped out of a vehicle and the woman driver almost ran over him.
4:45 p.m. A Kentucky Fried Chicken caller said a drunk man was cutting weeds at the business and refusing to leave.
5:38 p.m. A Hernandez caller reported hearing one gunshot and said a man is pointing a gun at another man who has blood on his face.
6 p.m. A Hernandez caller said a man with a jacket over his head is running across the road and appears to be under the influence of something.
6:02 p.m. A Zia Lane and Montana Vista Street caller reported someone pulled the wires out of the walls in her well.
7:13 p.m. An overdose was reported on Calle Redonda. Six doses of Narcan were administered.
7:20 p.m. A Calle del Sol caller said two men are trying to jump his grandson and they’re threatening to shoot up the house tonight.
9:19 p.m. A Velarde caller reported her foster child punched her 15-year-old.
9:54 p.m. A Calle de Pajarito caller said two young men knocked on his elderly uncle’s door, accused him of talking to their sister, then attacked him.
10:07 p.m. A Thorton Lane caller reported a large group of people was yelling in the road and might be fighting.
10:17 p.m. A Calle de Pajarito caller said she was threatened by neighborhood kids when she went to the neighbor’s house to take tortillas.
1:22 p.m. A Calle del Sol caller reported a large group of teens jumped her husband and were throwing rocks.

12:18 a.m. A Cook’s Mobile Home Park caller said a woman was on something and jumped out of the bathroom window and is on the ground, crying and arguing with her mother.
1:09 a.m. A Calle Duran caller reported people are in front of her house, arguing and fighting.
2:46 a.m. A Hernandez caller said someone stole his phone and he has the suspect locked in his garage.
6:54 a.m. A truck and trailer were stolen from Motel 6.
12:32 p.m. A caller said a man walking near Valdez Park punched a dent in their vehicle and walked away.
2:25 p.m. A Wells Fargo bank caller reported a man is trying to wash customers’ vehicles.
3:06 p.m. A caller said her daughter told her that her father pulled a knife on her and said they’re lucky he didn’t stab them.
5:13 p.m. A Calle del Sol caller reported two bicycles were stolen this morning.
5:17 p.m. A minor at the Abiquiú Dam boat ramp was in possession of alcohol.
9:39 p.m. A caller said a man punched her daughter in the face.
11:35 p.m. An Española Fire Station caller reported a man is walking around, casing employees’ vehicles and looking inside them.

12:38 a.m. A Chamita caller said a man in a truck was yelling that he was going to get a gun and left the area.
12:48 a.m. A Roadrunner Drive and Po Pay Avenue caller heard people fighting in the street.
4:27 a.m. A Cañones caller said a young man went to their camper and said he was kidnapped.
5:53 a.m. A North Riverside Drive caller saw a man vandalizing the area.
7:20 a.m. A State Road 76 caller reported a man in a weird outfit was walking toward town with his junk out.
8:12 a.m. A man’s death was reported in Chamita.
9:25 a.m. An Allsups caller said people from Eagle Village are going over there and loitering.
12:17 p.m. An Allsups caller reported a man was causing a scene.
12:18 p.m. A dog was locked in a vehicle that was turned off and had the windows rolled up at Walmart.
1:05 p.m. Two people were trying to fight in front of Walgreens.
2:55 p.m. A caller said his father is coming at him and threatening to kill his dog and his neighbor’s dog.
4:23 p.m. A Hernandez caller thought someone in a truck was going to dump trash in a nearby empty lot.
5:25 p.m. A Kentucky Fried Chicken caller said a tow truck was rolling coal on the homeless people there.
8 p.m. A Hernandez caller reported his girlfriend’s mom went crazy and broke things in his house.
11:42 p.m. A JGN Lane caller heard a man and woman yelling and playing loud music.

June 29
6:23 a.m. A Tsigo Bugeh Village caller reported a 3- or 4-year-old child was wandering the complex alone.
9:20 a.m. An overdose was reported on Kee Street.
9:36 a.m. A County Road 40 caller said he whacked himself in the head with a steel tube and was bleeding.
11:26 a.m. A caller reported someone in the El Rito Canyon area was bitten by a dog.
12:18 p.m. A father in Dixon strangled his 15-year-old son and was preventing him and his mother from leaving the house.
12:51 p.m. A Walgreens caller said she left her prescription in the basket and when she returned, the prescription was gone.
1:10 p.m. A Velarde caller reported her in-laws went over to help a relative and began arguing with her husband and threatened to shoot him.
1:54 p.m. An overdose was reported in Cordova and the man died.
2:07 p.m. A man who slipped his handcuffs and broke a bed at the emergency room earlier in the day was found lying by the Dollar Tree and unresponsive. After the took him into custody again, he kicked an officer while he was trying to escort him into the detention center.
2:32 p.m. A Camino Miramontes caller said a woman is trying to take his son from the house.
3:19 p.m. An officer rolled up on a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.
3:57 p.m. A BOLO was issued for a vehicle full of “illegal immigrants” headed from Chama to Arizona.
6:21 p.m. An overdose was reported in the Walgreens parking lot. Two doses of Narcan were administered.
8:39 p.m. An Ohkay Casino caller said a snack bar employee smashed their finger in the refrigerator and isn’t sure if their fingers are broken.
10:22 p.m. A break-in was reported at Liberty Tax and Loans.
11:24 p.m. An overdose was reported on Buena Vista Drive in Tierra Amarilla after a 16-year-old took a green pill.

June 30
6:24 a.m. A woman’s death was reported in Tierra Amarilla.
6:48 a.m. A South McCurdy Road caller said squatters are blocking his driveway and he can’t get out.
7:15 a.m. A county vehicle was stolen from the compound in Alcalde.
10 a.m. A Hernandez woman was bitten by her neighbor’s pitbull.
10:28 a.m. A Calle de Pajarito caller said her ex took all her documents for her and her children.
11:11 a.m. A North McCurdy Road caller reported a house was broken into.
4:04 p.m. A Freddy’s caller said a man slashed a woman’s face and chased her toward Taco Bell.
7:26 p.m. A woman at Valdez Park was by the playground equipment, bothering the children.
8 p.m. A woman was knocking on everyone’s door at the Villa del Norte Apartments.
8:04 p.m. A caller said she plays an online game and a gamer was able to hack her computer and access her Facebook page. The hacker began harassing her online.
9 p.m. A woman was setting off alarms on West Calle Jose Pablo.

3:14 a.m. An Allsups caller reported a man was shooting from a vehicle.
7:47 a.m. A Coyote caller said a woman was going crazy and destroying the house because they wouldn’t give her money.
8:04 a.m. A San Pedro Sonic caller reported a man with a gun in his waistband was crossing the street toward the business.
9:57 a.m. A McDonald’s caller said a man with a knife was walking around in circles.
11:59 a.m. A North McCurdy Road caller saw someone climb through his neighbor’s window.
1:30 p.m. A man was tased after he tried to run out the door at the Española Detention Center.
3:21 p.m. A Walgreens caller said a man in a car took a woman’s phone.
8:04 p.m. A Medanales caller reported a man who hit his brother in the head a couple days ago with a bar is back in the area.
8:27 p.m. A Medanales caller head about 10 shots fired from a rifle. The caller said the shooter is shooting toward their residence and they can see him through their binoculars.
10:44 p.m. A Speedway caller said a man and woman are shooting from their vehicle.
10:59 p.m. An Allsups caller reported a man in a vehicle at a gas pump appears to be drunk.

12:55 a.m. A Truchas caller said people have large shipping containers and are filling them with items.
1:46 a.m. An alarm was activated at the YMCA.
8 a.m. A Po Pay Avenue caller said two drunk men are throwing rocks at his dogs.
8:28 a.m. An Ash Loop caller reported someone at a nearby house is selling drugs.
10:13 a.m. A Chimayó caller said there’s a man face-down in the weeds.
12:22 p.m. An officer stopped a person who was walking in the middle of the road on North Riverside Drive.
1:08 p.m. A Velarde caller said a woman lost control of her car and wrecked.
1:59 p.m. A Velarde caller reported the neighbor’s son is spinning his tires and kicking up dirt. They have a restraining order against the neighbors.
3:14 p.m. A Spruce Street caller found bullets on their property and want to turn them over to the police.
3:56 p.m. A Tierra Amarilla caller said a man was irate and stood in front of their vehicle and wouldn’t let them leave.
8:48 p.m. A Calle del Sol caller reported 15-20 children yelling and fighting.
11:17 p.m. A Calle Redonda and El Llano Road caller said someone was playing loud music. They didn’t have a house number but told the dispatcher to have the officer “roll down their window and they’ll hear it.”
