Intervention Backfires
Monday, March 14
• 8 a.m. — A Hernandez Elementary caller said the school zone signs on Highway 84/285 in front of the school were not on and people were speeding through the school zone.
• 9:06 a.m. — A Highway 74 caller said a woman was chasing her in a red Buick. She said they do not like each other. The woman who was following the caller turned around and drove away.
• 10:51 a.m. — An Española Municipal Court caller said a man punched his car.
• 1:25 p.m. — An Arby’s caller said an intoxicated man was outside of the store and refusing to leave. The caller said he was harassing people near North Riverside Drive who were selling wood.
• 2:10 p.m. — A Highway 68 caller said a GMC Sierra with a sticker on it that said “caustic lye” was driving out of its lane and nearly went into the median.
• 3:21 p.m. — An Evelyn’s Kitchen caller said she got a harassing text message from an ex-employee. The text message told her to watch her back.
• 8:04 p.m. — A County Road 87 caller said her boyfriend was possibly overdosing and trying to kill himself because people confronted him about drinking and asked him to stop.

Tuesday, March 15
• 7:07 a.m. — A Wal-Mart caller said someone was trying to steal a trash can filled with electronics.
• 8:35 a.m. — A McCracken Lane caller said someone broke into her home through the kitchen window and stole a television, a computer and a handgun.
• 10:18 a.m. — A State Road 162 caller said his horse died and was eaten by the neighborhood dogs.
• 11:33 a.m. — A Dairy Queen caller said two people were in a Jeep waiting for ice cream and passed out in the vehicle. The caller later said the Jeep drove away.
• 5:02 p.m. — A Corlett Road caller said someone broke into his house and stole three video game systems and about 50 video games.
• 7:24 p.m. — A Calle Corral de Piedra caller said he went home and found a note on his door that said, “Sorry we missed you,” and, “There is a thousand ways to die.”

Wednesday, March 16
• 1:32 a.m. — A Santa Clara Apartments caller said a drunk man punched him and slapped a woman.
• 8:58 a.m. — An Upper San Pedro Road caller said a man pulled a knife on him. Deputies arrested one person for assault and tampering with evidence.
• 11:58 a.m. — A North Railroad Avenue caller said two of his vehicles were broken into. A checkbook and a GPS system were stolen.
• 7 p.m. — A Wal-Mart caller said she saw a man scratch her gray Ford Focus. She said the man was also harassing her in the store, saying he was going to make her life a living hell.
• 9:03 p.m. — A State Road 96 caller said a convict was beating up on her son. She said if her son needed an ambulance, the suspect would need a body bag.
Suffering Drunk
Thursday, March 17
• 9:31 a.m. — A Center Market caller accused a man of trying to shoplift meat from the store.
• 1:06 p.m. — A caller at Española Hospital said she was having problems with a former employee who was threatening to kill himself.
• 1:31 p.m. — A Santiago Lane caller said a man at the home was drunk and going crazy. She said he was hitting “everyone.” Police requested an ambulance for a woman who was pushed by the suspect and fell.
• 4:50 p.m. — A Jackrabbit Trail caller reported domestic violence in a moving vehicle. The caller said a woman was half-hanging out of the vehicle.
• 8:48 p.m. — A Rio Chama Chevron caller said there was a pickup truck with wood loaded in the back of it and two cars parked in front of and behind the truck. The caller thought there was a drug deal going on.
• 9:35 p.m. — A Crown Liquors caller said there was a drunk man crawling on the ground. Police requested an ambulance because they said the man had a broken leg and was telling them he wanted to suffer.
Horses Nearly Catch Bus
Friday, March 18
• 6:17 a.m. — An Española Hospital caller said a man came in covered in blood. He said he had been jumped by people at Las Lomas Apartments.
• 7:21 a.m. — A State Road 74 caller said four horses were on a bridge and nearly hit by a bus.
• 9:45 a.m. — A Paseo de Oñate Quick Stop caller accidentally locked a small child in the vehicle while she was paying for gas. A locksmith freed the child.
• 12:45 p.m. — An Española Middle School caller said 10 students were fighting in the office.
• 2:43 p.m. — A Wal-Mart caller said a man and a woman were outside the store asking people what the zip code for Española was. The caller thought they were asking people that because they were using stolen credit cards.

Saturday, March 19
• 8:53 a.m. — A Middle San Pedro Road caller said he was having a fight with his son, who broke into a door.
• 10:29 a.m. — A McDonald’s caller said a panhandler was telling customers he just lost his house and his girlfriend was pregnant. The caller said he would harass people if they would not give him money.
• 12:16 p.m. — A West Park Road caller said a man was threatening to beat him up because the caller sold him a computer for $1,800 and the suspect wanted his money back.
• 3:42 p.m. — Police found a butcher knife near the intersection of Fairview Lane and North Riverside Drive.
• 4:56 p.m. — A Family Dollar caller said some men in a car were throwing beer cans at him and one of the men pulled a knife before the car drove away.
Undecided on Suicide
Sunday, March 20
• 1:47 a.m. — A Private Drive 1550 caller said a drunk person was banging on his door and he did not know who it was.
• 10:40 a.m. — A Motel 6 caller said he took something and had pain in his stomach. The caller said he had felt that way for a few days. The dispatcher thought it was a possible overdose because the man had slurred speech. An ambulance transported the man to the hospital.
• 11:56 a.m. — A State Road 554 caller said a man was threatening to kill himself either by shooting up heroin or by cutting himself.
• 3:56 p.m. — A Wal-Mart caller said someone was trying to break into a vehicle but gave up and left in another vehicle.
• 4:05 p.m. — A State Road 115 caller said a man cut his chin with either a saw or a drill. The man was going to the clinic in Tierra Amarilla.
• 9:43 p.m. — A County Road 59 caller said she and her husband came back from a birthday party and he was abusing her verbally.
