Española Police, Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Police, Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s deputies and State Police responded to the following calls:
Homeless Man Has Wheels
Monday, Nov. 2
• 10:12 a.m. — A caller said two neighbors on Buckman Road were fighting over a dog that kept going over to one of their houses. The man with the wandering dog told police his dog tried to bite someone at his neighbor’s house, and the neighbor told him if the dog showed up on his property again, he would kill it. Police assisted the caller.
• 2:27 p.m. — A State Road 68 caller said a man was arguing with him and destroying property in the house. He couldn’t be found.
• 4:48 p.m. — A Sundial gas station caller said a suspicious man had something in his pocket. The suspect was holding a sign saying he was homeless, although he had an Oldsmobile Alero.
• 6:29 p.m. — A Chacoma Court caller said a bad smell in the area might have been a methamphetamine lab. Police determined the smell was coming from Gallegos Scrap Metal.
• 8:58 p.m. — A woman said she was at Northern New Mexico College with some friends and was now getting harassing phone calls from one of her old friends. Police took a report.
Man Retaliates For Jail Stint
Tuesday, Nov. 3
• 8:13 a.m. — A State Road 233 caller said her brother was trying to disconnect her water. She said State Police picked him up on a warrant the previous week, and he was retaliating against her. “All resolved and they will be turning back on the water,” an officer recorded in dispatch logs.
• 4:32 p.m. — A West Sanchez Street caller said an uncle was refusing to leave the premises. He was detoxed.
• 5:55 p.m. — A Walgreens employee said a man was caught trying to shoplift pill crushers.
Chihuahua Chase
Wednesday, Nov. 4
• 12:54 a.m. — A La Joya Street caller said a man was knocking at her door. She said he jumped the fence and was over by El Rey Liquors. He was detoxed.
• 7:47 a.m. — A caller said that at a residence behind Mountain Air Cleaners, two Chihuahuas were chasing an individual.
• 11:15 a.m. — A Calle Eloy Martinez caller said there was a pit bull blocking her doorway. She said she didn’t know to whom the dog belonged but it appeared mean. The dog was captured by Animal Control.
• 11:16 p.m. — An East Jiron Street caller said an unwanted man was in her yard.
Inconsiderate Goats
Thursday, Nov. 5
• 8:09 a.m. — A woman said a man cut her off and made a gesture with his fingers as if he was putting a gun to his head. The woman didn’t want a report, but just for an officer to tell the man to slow down.
• 12:18 p.m. — A caller said he was at Holy Cross cemetery and saw someone in the hills looking through binoculars.
• 12:23 p.m. — A man called from the Veterans Affairs Administration hospital in Albuquerque saying someone called a crisis hotline saying he was upset, because the caller couldn’t get his driver’s license from the Motor Vehicle Department in Española. The man who called the hotline said he was going to kill someone at the Motor Vehicle Department but wasn’t sure whom. The hotline caller was identified and police went to his house to check on him.
• 5:14 p.m. — A Private Drive 1521 caller said a sheep and some goats were destroying his property.
Ticket Fraud
Friday, Nov. 6
• 6:85 p.m. — A Sierra Vista caller said they were selling tickets to Amigos Del Valle and someone was selling fake tickets. Police took a report.
• 7:56 p.m. — A caller said three juveniles were dancing in the middle of State Road 74.
• 10:25 p.m. — A San Pedro Sonic employee said two cars had been there for over an hour without ordering. They were dispersed.
Family Jumps To Conclusions
Saturday, Nov. 7
• 7:01 a.m. — A Jemez View Street caller said her mother and sister were accusing her of stealing money from them. A man took the phone and said his daughter “gets messed up and steals from them.” He said they didn’t know whether she was drunk or on pills. Police determined someone had just misplaced the money.
• 10:14 a.m. — A caller said a man in the parking lot of Big Rock Casino was calling him stupid and wanting to fight him. Police determined it was a dispute over the gas pumps and everything was OK.
• 12:11 p.m. — A Wal-Mart employee said a man was opening a package of food and eating it in the store. Police assisted.

Sunday, Nov. 8
• 2:19 a.m. — A County Road 51 caller said her mother was intoxicated and a threat to herself.
• 2:53 p.m. — A Shoe Department caller said a man and woman shoplifted shoes and were walking by the Española car wash.
• 6:09 p.m. — An Ohkay Casino caller said a man was harassing everyone there.
