Construction contractors hired by the city of Española repave the drying beds at the city’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, in September 2016. Normally, these beds are used to dry microorganisms and other solids processed out of the liquid waste that comes through the plant, but the grease from local restaurants has disrupted the treatment process.
