Two Rio Arriba County officials graduated with a certified public official designation June 5 at the New Mexico Association of Counties annual conference in Hobbs.
Former jail administrator Bidal Candelaria, who retired June 30, and Human Resources Director Jessica Madrid earned their designations by completing at least 18 classes in fields such as government, management and human resources. The courses are offered through County College, a joint program of New Mexico State University and the Association.
County College works through the guidelines of the National Certified Public Manager Consortium to develop certification programs and works with the affiliates of the Association to develop affiliate-specific curricula.
