My understanding as a recovering addict who works with teenagers at YMCA Teen Center in Espanola is that education on addiction is the key to attacking our Valley’s growing addiction problem.
Our local government officials need to address this and appropriate money for caring for our teens and families with addictions. As tax payers we pay taxes to see money spent on useless programs and projects.
Residents of this great Valley and county need to educate, not point fingers at law enforcement and schools. More community involvement is crucial to our future, our teens.
As a concerned citizen and resident of this Valley, I feel your paper is informing and educating our citizens on publishing the facts of our problems with addictions. Why not send a message to our government officials that education is the key to a better, healthier and more productive future for our next generation of citizens.
