Wanna-Be Robber Leaves Business Card

A man inquired Monday at the RHOC express on Riverside Drive what the employees would do if he robbed the place, according to Española Police.

The man showed up around 3:50 a.m. at the gas station and asked one employee what he would do if he robbed the place, while lifting his shirt to reveal a handgun tucked in his waistband. The employee, Timothy Trujillo, told the man that police are always around the area and he wouldn’t get far.

Another employee, Juan Montano, entered at that point, and he and the man struck up a conversation about tattoos, a police report states. The man gave Montano a card with information about his tattoo business, and asked whether Montano would press the panic button under the counter if he robbed the store. Montano replied that he would, and said police frequently stop by the gas station.

Then the man said there was probably only $20 in the cash register, and left. He was reportedly about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with various tattoos including a teardrop under each eye. He was driving a white Toyota Camry with an unknown license plate.

Police took an informational report about the incident and will review a store surveillance tape and try to contact him using information from his business card.
