Applications for the 2009 Youth Business Grant Program are now available.
The program provides young entrepreneurs between the ages of 13 and 19 with the opportunity to start a new business or improve an existing one. For the first time this year, participants will be able to apply for up to $400 in grant funding.
The deadline for submitting completed applications and mini-business plans is May 18 at 5 p.m.
Application packets may be picked up at Northern New Mexico College’s Small Business Development Center, located at 1027 N. Railroad Ave. in Española, or at the Small Business Center in Los Alamos. They may also be downloaded from www.ybgp.org on the “How to Apply” page.
Instructions for preparing the required business plan are also available upon request.
Applications must be returned to one of the Small Business Centers or faxed to 662-0099.
Late applications will not be considered. Interviews will be conducted in Los Alamos during the first week of June, and all participants and their parents will be required to attend an orientation session the following week.
For more information, call Venessa De Los Santos or Heather Campbell at 662-0001 or visit www.ybgp.org.
