The above graph shows how much money Kathy Borrego embezzled from the Jemez Mountain School District each year from 2001 to 2009, according to figures provided by the state Taxation and Revenue Department to the District Attorney’s Office. Borrego was fired from the District June 18, 2009, and later pleaded guilty to felony embezzlement charges before committing suicide May 8, 2010.
