(SUNfoto by Lou Mattei) Wildlife Center volunteer Tom Wyant showed off the Center’s resident Gila monster May 1 at the Center’s annual open house. Wyant said the Gila monster subsists on a diet of freshly killed rats. It is one of 34 species of wildlife that live at the Center, which doubles as a hospital for sick and injured wildlife, and an education center for the public.
