The Forest Guild will hold a forestry and climate-change workshop Nov. 20 from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Albuquerque Grand Hotel.
The registration fee is $40 until Oct. 15, and $45 thereafter. Lunch is included.
The goal of the workshop is to provide information about climate change’s projected impacts on New Mexico forests. Forest managers, researchers, landowners, students, activists and the general public are encouraged to attend.
The Guild has organized four working groups to focus on each of New Mexico’s four dominant forest types: bosque, piñon-juniper, ponderosa pine and mixed conifer/aspen. Each group will give a presentation specific to that forest type, featuring practical knowledge and management considerations.
Registration and group hotel information is available online at www.forestguild.org/nmfccworkshop.html. For more information, call Howard Gross at 983-8992, ext. 42.
