Firefighters have contained the wildfire in the Jemez Mountains that caused smoke to spread across the Española Valley last week.
Resources were demobilized Sunday due to the significant progress made by firefighters and minimal fire activity.
The fire had started on the Santa Fe National Forest, approximately six miles northwest of Jemez Springs and approximately one-half mile southwest of Fenton Lake State Park within Sandoval County.
The fire is under investigation but is suspected to have started from an abandoned camp fire. Over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend forest officials put out 17 abandoned campfires on the Jemez Ranger District alone.
No structures were lost. Evacuations have been lifted for the Seven Springs community and the Fish Hatchery. Fenton Lake State Park was re-opened Monday.
Forest Service Road 376 was closed eight miles north of Gilman at Porter Landing as of Sunday. The Santa Fe National Forest had not implemented fire restrictions as of Monday.
