 ABIQUIU LAKE: Fishing was slow to fair using deep running crank baits, spinners and jigging spoons in 20 to 35 feet of water for walleye. A few smallmouth bass were caught on tubes, crank baits and spinners.

CHAMA RIVER: Monday morning water flows below El Vado and Abiquiú dams were 103 and 99 cubic feet per second, respectively. Fishing below El Vado Lake was fair to good using night crawlers and salmon eggs for a mix of brown and rainbow trout up to 17 inches. Fishing below Abiquiú Lake was fair using worms and salmon eggs for rainbow trout.

EAGLE NEST LAKE: Kokanee snagging was fair in the early morning hours near the boat ramps. Bank fishing was fair using roe sacs, salmon eggs and power bait for rainbow trout.

EL VADO LAKE: Fishing was slow but a few fish were taken by anglers using night crawlers and spinners.

HERON LAKE: Trout fishing from the bank was slow to fair using power bait, salmon eggs and roe sac. Anglers are reminded that it is unlawful to possess a kokanee from Oct. 1 to Nov. 13.

JEMEZ WATERS: Water flow on the Jemez as of Monday morning was 24 cubic feet per second near Jemez Springs. Trout fishing on the Jemez, San Antonio and East Fork rivers was fair to good using parachute adams, Royal wulffs, small spinners, copper john bars, salmon eggs and worms.

LAGUNA DEL CAMPO: (Burns Canyon Lake) This lake closes for the season on Friday.

NAVAJO LAKE: Kokanee snagging was fair to good this past week at the south corner of the dam and near the Pine Arm boat ramp. Fishing for northern pike was good using deep running crank baits on the main lake and up the San Juan arm. Fishing for smallmouth bass was slow but a few were taken on crank baits and small worms.

RIO GRANDE: The water flow Monday morning at the Taos Junction Bridge was 286 cubic feet per second. Trout fishing on the upper river was good using wooly buggers, spinners, jerk baits, salmon eggs and night crawlers. Fishing for northern pike near Pilar was fair using jerk baits and spinners.

SAN JUAN: Water flow below Navajo Lake as of Monday morning was 491 cubic feet per second. Trout fishing in the Quality Water was good for anglers using RS2s, emergers, red annelids, chamois leeches and egg patterns. Fishing through the bait waters was fair using night crawlers, salmon eggs, streamers and jerk baits.

SANTA CRUZ LAKE: Trout fishing was fair using salmon eggs, spinners, power bait and worms.

STORRIE LAKE: Trout fishing was excellent this past week as several limits were taken by anglers using salmon eggs and cheese. Most of the fish taken were in the 13 to 15-inch range. The best action was reported at the north campground area.
