White Horse
Monday, June 7
• 2:36 a.m. — A caller reported seeing a suspicious person hiding behind the slides at Valdez Park.
• 6:29 a.m. — A State Road 30 caller said a white horse was on the roadway by Domino’s Pizza.
• 11:43 a.m. — A Lowe’s Super Save caller said two men near the freight entrance were doing drugs. One of the men had his shirt off and the caller could not tell whether the other man was attacking him or rubbing his back.
• 2:23 p.m. — A Bond Street caller said someone ransacked his home and stole three television sets.
• 2:53 p.m. — A RadioShack caller asked police to disperse four men who were standing outside.
• 3:09 p.m. — A Walgreens caller said a man stole an LED flashlight from the store.
• 3:39 p.m. — Movie Gallery employees said they were being harassed and assaulted by someone who left in a vehicle and hid his license plate under a plastic bag.
• 6:12 p.m. — Someone on North Paseo De Oñate was cutting weeds near Total Secure Towing and tossing them over the fence of another property, a caller reported. The caller confronted the person, who started harassing him.
Burglary Spree
Tuesday, June 8
• 4:20 a.m. — A Las Lomas Apartments caller heard his door open and heard someone run away after he got up.
• 8:47 a.m. — A Red Door Coffee House caller said someone tried breaking into the Black Mesa Massage and Yoga Center.
• 10:11 a.m. — A China Kitchen caller said the business was broken into the previous night.
• 12:05 p.m. — State Police were talking to a man who was holding a knife to his throat and threatening to kill himself. The man was taken to Española Hospital.
• 2:38 p.m. — A West Winesap Drive caller said a man whom the caller did not know was sleeping in her house.
• 4:37 p.m. — A North Riverside Drive caller complained that someone stole the tailgate to his truck.
• 9:52 p.m. — A Carr Lane caller reported hearing shots from a high-powered rifle. An officer on a traffic stop said he saw fireworks in the area.
Mysterious Cap
Wednesday, June 9
• 12:36 a.m. — A Greenfield Road caller said “a bunch of junk” was on fire in a shed. The fire was extinguished but only after it damaged some bushes and a fence as well.
• 7:07 a.m. — A Camino De Roberto caller said he found a ball cap on a bridge and thought someone fell over the bridge.
• 10:22 a.m. — A woman suffered smoke inhalation from a car fire along Highway 84/285, according to dispatch logs.
• 4 p.m. — A cat got its head stuck in a bottle at Calle Loma, a caller reported.
• 9:11 p.m. — A caller driving in from Taos on State Road 68 said a silver car was parked in the middle of the roadway.
Serf Won’t Leave
Thursday, June 10
• 10:50 a.m. — The Princess Boutique on North Riverside Drive had been broken into through the back door, a caller said. Dispatch notes that several tools were found in the area.
• 12:34 p.m. — A Shadowood Lane caller complained of children breaking branches and causing problems in the area. Dispatch logs state this call goes back to a previous dispute involving air conditioners.
• 12:40 p.m. — A Wendy’s caller said someone broke into his gray 4Runner and stole a bag of food and a MP3 player.
• 1:35 p.m. — A State Road 68 caller reported a fight at La Tienda. One of the men involved had a gun in his pants and one car was stopped in the middle of the road.
• 2:32 p.m. — A State Road 68 caller reported an unwanted person at his residence. He said he was paying a worker in food, beer and cigarettes and has since fired him, but the worker was refusing to leave his property.
• 8:13 p.m.— A North Riverside Drive caller said she found needles in her back yard and she was afraid her grandson would pick them up and play with them.

Friday, June 11
• 7:10 a.m. — State Police located an abandoned vehicle on Forest Road 144, and found a body in the trees. Sgt. Chris Valdez confirmed the death was a suspected suicide, due to a suicide note found at the man’s home.
• 8:48 a.m. — A Highway 84 caller said her neighbor’s back yard was on fire, but a few minutes later said the fire might be under control.
• 10:32 a.m. — A Corlett Road caller complained of what could have been homeless people living in a shed. The shed had a mattress in it.
• 12:17 p.m. — An Ohkay Travel Center caller said three males began harassing her when she refused to sell them alcohol.
• 12:34 p.m. — Shoplifting was reported at RadioShack. Two cameras and a receiver were allegedly stolen by a man driving a Cutlas.
• 1:02 p.m. — A Fairview Lane caller told dispatch an elk was on the Valdez Bridge in Española.
• 5:22 p.m. — A Highway 84 caller told dispatch a 60 year-old female had been bitten by a spider, which she believed was a black widow. The woman was not bleeding, weak, clammy or dizzy. It was later discovered she had been bitten by a large ant.
• 6:35 p.m. — A Calle Rodriguez caller complained about white pit bulls running loose in the area.
• 8:58 p.m. — A Chimayó Family Dollar caller said a male driving around the parking lot exposed himself to the employees.
Purse-Snatcher Hospitalized
Saturday, June 12
• 12:27 a.m. — An Española Hospital caller reported that a van with bats painted on it was parked in the facility’s lot and a mask was inside the van.
• 12:28 a.m. — Police responded to a call of a fight involving 20 individuals at Club Tropicana. They later noted that it was two women who were in a fight and one of them left prior to officers’ arrival.
• 1:07 a.m. — A dead elk was underneath the Valdez Bridge, according to a Forest Service worker.
• 9:30 a.m. — A State Road 68 caller complained about construction debris, which was in the roadway.
• 9:53 a.m. — A rattle snake was in a car at the Española Hospital. Animal Control caught and released the rattle snake.
• 1:02 p.m. — Two intoxicated males on Fairview Lane were swearing at people who would not let them hitchhike, a caller reported.
• 4:58 p.m. — A North Railroad Avenue said an intoxicated man carrying a guitar was harassing people.
• 5:43 p.m. — A purse-snatching was reported on North Riverside Drive. The male thief jumped a fence but was later caught. He claimed he was suicidal and was taken to the Española Hospital.
Fire
Sunday, June 13
• 2:57 a.m. — There were males at Las Lomas Apartments screaming for someone to come outside.
• 5:12 a.m. — There were males hanging outside of the Santa Clara apartments on East Chamisal Street and the caller was afraid to come outside because she did not trust them.
• 9:46 a.m. A male was lighting some cotton on fire outside of a residence at Private Drive 1121.
• 2:12 p.m. An unattended camp fire was reported on County Road 527.
• 7:15 p.m. A horse was on the roadway near Highways 64 and 84.
