Police Blotter: Jail Offers Tierra Amarilla Man Escape from Old Ball and Chain

    Española Police, Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Police, Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s deputies and State Police responded to the following calls:

Landlady Slap

Monday, Oct. 19

    • 9:25 a.m. — An El Centro Family Health employee told 911 dispatchers a patient was in withdrawals, and the caller was afraid the patient was going to go after her. The woman left the area before police arrived.

    • 12:07 p.m. — A Cook’s Mobile Home Park caller said she thought her neighbors threw some rocks at her trailer during a party they had the previous night. The rocks made three dents in the caller’s trailer, she reported.

    • 1:50 p.m. — A woman was acting strange and talking to voices in her head, a La Joya Street caller said.

    • 4 p.m. — A caller said her landlady was slapping her.

Prostitute Targets Caller’s Husband

Tuesday, Oct. 20

    • 10:08 a.m. — A caller said his wife was stalked at Bode’s General Mercantile in Abiquiú by a neighbor who parked next to her and made a physical gesture.

    • 10:55 a.m. — A Fairview Lane caller said two men in a white car were trying to fight with him.

    • 11:05 a.m. — A Shoe Dept. employee said some suspicious characters were casing the business.

    • 11:44 a.m. — A Private Drive 1301 caller said her neighbor was harassing her by saying obscenities.

    • 1:07 p.m. — A caller said a woman near the RHOC Express was prostituting herself and stopping cars. The caller said the woman had just stopped her husband and solicited him. Police drove by and didn’t see the alleged prostitute doing anything.

    • 2:02 p.m. — A caller said he was driving behind a tan Lincoln carrying four men he didn’t know when they stopped in the middle of the road and started flipping him off.

Goat Hazard

Wednesday, Oct. 21

    • 5:50 p.m. — A goat was in the middle of State Road 68 near Club Lumina, a caller reported. The livestock inspector agreed to contact the goat’s owner. “No other calls reference this goat,” 911 dispatchers recorded in logs.

    • 6:29 p.m. — A Valley Superette employee said after another staff member was fired, the ex-employee’s father showed up and advised the store owner’s son to watch his back. Police advised the subject of the threat to get a restraining order.

    • 8:17 p.m. — A Private Drive 1040 caller said he arrived home to find his windows broken. He said a woman, whom he just ended a relationship with, may have broken them.

    • 10:03 p.m. — A woman said some people threw stuff at her car when she drove out of Wal-Mart and made harassing calls.

Epic Trash War

Thursday, Oct. 22

    • 5:20 a.m. — A Lower San Pedro Road caller said a woman threw beer at her during a fight. She also said someone on Lower San Pedro Road was throwing tables. Police couldn’t find anything suspicious in the area.

    • 4:25 p.m. — A caller said a man walking up and down State Road 74 appeared to be disoriented. Police made contact with the man, who said he was just clearing his head.

    • 5:06 p.m. — A Rio Arriba County Road 141 caller said his neighbor dumped trash on his porch. He said it was an ongoing issue, and he wanted to resolve it once and for all.    

    • 11:20 p.m. — A Camino Raphael caller said her boyfriend who was on cocaine, took her flat screen television, possibly to sell it for more cocaine. The call was transferred to another agency.

Weed Turns Off Hitchhiker

Friday, Oct. 23

    • 11:28 a.m. — A North Riverside Drive caller said her ex-boyfriend was removing the rims from her car.

    • 1:13 p.m. — A Tierra Amarilla man requested an officer to arrest and book him so “he won’t have to deal with his old lady.” Police couldn’t find him.

    • 5:07 p.m. — A South Riverside Drive caller said a man and a woman with blue hair were threatening to assault people who would not voluntarily give them money.

    • 6:28 p.m. — A Walgreens employee said someone who came to pick up his pills ran off with the bag when he was asked for his identification.

    • 8:51 p.m. — A caller said a silver Oldsmobile Alero stopped to offer her a ride, and the car smelled like marijuana.

Girls’ Night Fight

Saturday, Oct. 24

    • 1:25 a.m. — A County Road 57 caller said his ex-girlfriend bit him on the face. The call was transferred to State Police.

    • 9:33 a.m. — A Private Drive 1523 caller said his ex-neighbor was putting up a fence that would prevent the caller from accessing a piece of land the ex-neighbor had sold him. The caller was given permission to remove the fence posts and put them on the ex-neighbor’s property.

    • 9:34 a.m. — A State Road 110 caller said her daughter was unwanted at the caller’s house because she is a drug addict who was stealing from the caller.

    • 11:38 a.m. — A West Pueblo Drive caller said a man tried stealing an old tin mirror from the caller’s home. The caller chased down the thief, retrieved the mirror but didn’t want a report.

    • 6:36 p.m. — A County Road 140 caller said a number of intoxicated people were chasing and shooting at a bobcat. Police couldn’t find the shooters.

    • 9:12 p.m. — A Calle Fernandez caller said his friend’s husband was fighting with him and his wife. “Negative intoxication and negative weapons,” a 911 dispatcher recorded in logs. “There is fighting due to girls’ night.”

Prayer Alibi Doesn’t Fly

Sunday, Oct. 25

    • 1:20 a.m. — A McDonald’s employee said a man was panhandling in the drive-thru area. Police had him leave the area, even though he claimed to be asking only for prayers.

    • 8:54 p.m. — A Lower San Pedro Road caller said his friend’s mother-in-law said someone gave her drugs at Wal-Mart. The mother-in-law said a car approached her car and may or may not have put drugs into her car. Police determined the mother-in-law seemed crazy.
