    Española Police officers, Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Police, Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s deputies and State Police responded to the following calls:

Unborn Sibling Rivalry

Monday, Dec. 6

    • 2:53 a.m. — A Private Drive 1401 caller said a man cut the tires to her car and kept texting her daughter. She said she didn’t have a restraining order on the man, but had been planning to get one.

    • 10:23 a.m. — A State Road 96 caller said a “highly” drunk man was trying to break into a house where her 15-year-old cousin was staying.

    • 11:41 a.m. — Police went to the Española Valley High School because there was the threat of a gun fight, which never happened.

    • 3:58 p.m. — An Española Family Dollar caller reported that an old employee was threatening the new employee who had his old position.

    • 5:38 p.m. — A County Road 1 caller said a man was fighting with his mom and pushing her. The caller said the woman was pregnant.

    • 7:03 p.m. — A County Road 51 caller said someone kicked open the door to her home and stole jewelry, tools, a box, a lap top and digital cameras.

    • 11:01 p.m. — An Española Hospital caller said a man and a woman were leaving the emergency room and they were both too drunk to be driving.

Tuesday, Dec. 7

    • 2:48 a.m. — A Trujillo Loop caller reported a truck that was cruising around behind Christina’s Hollywood Salon. An officer said he told the people in the truck to park closer to the road because they were “freaking people out.”

    • 3 a.m. — Someone tagged with spray paint a State Police cruiser, which was parked at Calle De Pajarito.

    • 11:38 a.m. — A State Road 76 caller said a man fell 12 feet from a roof and hit his head on concrete. The man was conscious, but thought he had a broken wrist.

    • 12:18 p.m. — A Velarde Elementary caller said she could hear someone firing a gun from the baseball fields across State Road 68. Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s deputies could not find the gunman.

    • 1:26 p.m. — A Triple S convenience store caller said an intoxicated man was passed out by the trash bins.

    • 3:09 p.m. — An Ohkay Travel Center caller said four men on motorcycles were fighting in the parking lot.

    • 3:58 p.m. — A Highway 84 caller said she saw a horse that blended in with the rocks it was standing behind.

    • 4:58 p.m. — A La Joya Street caller said two ladders and a Skill saw were stolen from his residence.

    • 8:45 p.m. — A Highway 84/285 caller said a man was giving her a hard time by yelling and throwing tortillas.

Big Man With A Gun

Wednesday, Dec. 8

    • 8:07 A.M. — A Highway 84 caller said his neighbor was harassing his wife while she was waiting at the bus stop. He said a deputy told him to get a license plate from his neighbor and the caller said his neighbor’s husband came out and assaulted him when he tried to do this.

    • 10:41 a.m. — A woman at the Swift Lube said she was being harassed by people who said they knew “all” the cops, and to not bother calling them.

    • 1:31 p.m. — Wal-Mart staff complained about a woman who was trespassing. The caller said he told her to leave, but she continued to stuff merchandise in her purse.

    • 1:39 p.m. — A Vista Del Rio Apartments caller said she was flagged down by a man, who tried to grab her.

    • 2:04 p.m. — A County Road 41 caller said a drunk man was banging on his door and refusing to leave. The man said he would shoot the suspect in the head if he breaks the door.

    • 2:56 p.m. — A separate caller on County Road 40 said there was someone outside his door and he was going to shoot him in the forehead.

Affair Gets Worse

Thursday, Dec. 9

    • 5:55 a.m. — A Fairview Lane caller said she was getting into her vehicle when a man in a black hoodie came up and tried to get inside. She said she left her vehicle and ran toward the high school.

    • 12:34 p.m. — A caller by Crown Liquors complained of a drunk man in a white tank top who was asking people for rides.

    • 1:33 p.m. — A State Road 580 said one of his wife’s boyfriends came to his house and beat him up.

    • 2:25 p.m. — A Middle San Pedro Road caller said his brother was in his residence and wasn’t supposed to be there because he had broken in there several times before.

    • 5:49 p.m. — A South McCurdy Road caller said someone broke into his home through the window and stole a quarter collection.

    • 6:44 p.m. — A Santa Cruz Country Store caller said an extremely drunk man was passed out in front of his vehicle.

    • 8:58 p.m. — A Wal-Mart caller said his car was broken into and his toolbox was stolen.

Woman Consults Druggie Field Guide

Friday, Dec. 10

    • 12:37 a.m. — A Calle Redondo caller said a drunk man was at her house and she didn’t want to let him in. She was afraid he would break her windows.

    • 2:58 a.m. — A Calle de Pajarito caller said a friend stole some of her medication. An officer at the residence said the house had four people inside who were all drunk and the caller’s story didn’t really make sense.

    • 12:17 p.m.—  An Española Valley High School caller said a juvenile there had an open-sided razor blade and another student there was found to have marijuana and drug paraphernalia two minutes later.

    • 4:30 p.m. — A County Road 37 caller said her son’s girlfriend called and said she was going to send someone to shoot up their house and her son. The caller said her son wasn’t even home.

    • 5:40 p.m. — A Walgreen’s caller complained that there were “a bunch of druggies” hanging out in front of the store. She was asked how she knew they were druggies and she said it wasn’t safe to get out of her car. The caller hung up.

    • 6:17 p.m. — A Shadowood Lane caller said someone broke into his home and stole a television and $4,000.

    • 11:32 p.m. — An Ohkay Travel Center caller said she was being followed by a vehicle, which was flashing its lights at her. Police could not make contact with the caller.

Bomb Threats Move to Wal-Mart

Saturday, Dec. 11

    • 1:56 a.m. — A Wal-Mart caller said someone called a bomb threat into the store and said he would detonate the bomb if people tried to leave.  Police had people leave the store and no bomb was found.

    • 5:40 a.m. — An East Bond Street woman said she was jumped by two people,  but she started crying in the middle of her statement and asked to call her mom. No one at the scene had a cell phone. An officer gave her a card so she could file a report later, but she threw it back at him.

    • 4:26 p.m. — A County Road 189 caller said his neighbor was firing a gun. The caller said his neighbor had a “history” of shooting into the air.

    • 8:28 p.m. — A County Road 189 woman said a mother was very drunk and beat up her three children.

Drinking, Infidelity, Knives and Batman

Sunday, Dec. 12

    • 2:03 a.m. — A Santa Clara Apartments caller reported a suspicious banging in the next apartment. Police learned the tenants were just putting up a Christmas tree.

    • 3:59 a.m. — A West Arroyo Alamo caller said he was beaten up by three men and a woman. He said he was drinking with the people, then a woman was having an affair and then “some guy” pulled out a knife.

    • 11:54 a.m. — A West Chamisa Street caller said people broke into his house through a window and stole two ammunition loading machines.

    • 1:08 p.m. — A Calle Bonita caller said he told a man his wife was cheating on him. The man got mad. Police accused one man of unlawfully possessing a switchblade. In a police report, the man said he had the knife because it was like the one the Joker uses in a Batman movie.

    • 8:16 p.m. — A Canada Court caller said a car full of men was spinning the car’s tires in her yard and screaming a gang slogan for the West Side Locos.

    • 11 p.m. — A State Road 580 caller said a man he suspects of having an affair with his wife had been standing in his yard for ten minutes. One of the men involved in the call was bipolar and off his medication, but the calls do not specify who.
