Jailbird’s Rims Taken
Monday, Oct. 26
• 10:16 a.m. — A caller said two men were walking with a lawn mower and bolt cutters near the former Salazar Dodge dealership on Riverside Drive. They told police they were cutting weeds.
• 2:12 p.m. — A Las Lomas Apartments caller wanted an unwanted man removed from the apartment. He had already been told once before that he wasn’t wanted on the property.
• 3:19 p.m. — A man reported that while he was in jail his girlfriend took his rims from his garage.
Machete-Wielding Man Not Found
Tuesday, Oct. 27
• 11:27 a.m. — A Rio Arriba County Road 101 caller said someone broke into his house and stole a watch. He believed the burglars entered his home through a window in the kitchen. Police took a report for burglary.
• 11:40 a.m. — A caller said his neighbor told him his nephew stole a couple of checks from his grandmother’s house.
• 11:51 a.m. — A Calle Quintana caller said a loose dog was eating all the other dogs’ food. Animal control officers brought over a dog trap but couldn’t find anyone who would sign to have it set up.
• 1:45 p.m. — A State Road 68 caller said a woman at the repair shop where she had left her bus drove it around while the caller was gone and told her to get off the property.
• 4:52 p.m. — A Paseo de Oñate caller said a pit bull was running after cars trying to bite their tires.
• 5:27 p.m. — A caller said about two or three cars would not let him leave the Mustang Gas Station, and their occupants wanted to fight. He said they hit his car with a spike, and when he lowered his window, they hit him. He said he was buying couches from Rent-A-Center and the people who were threatening him stole the couches and were told he would meet with him that night to give them back. The call was transferred to another agency.
• 6:29 p.m. — An Arroyo de Agua man said he received a call from a man, who didn’t want to be identified, claiming another man swung a machete at someone and missed him. Police found that everything was OK at the scene, and the suspect was gone.

Wednesday, Oct. 28
• 1:33 p.m. — A San Pedro Shell caller said a customer brought a credit card to fill up and said he was going to go get money at the bank. The card was declined, and the man never came back.
• 4:58 p.m. — A caller said a person with Alzheimer’s disease shouldn’t be driving.
Wood in Demand
Thursday, Oct. 29
• 9:29 a.m. — A State Road 68 caller said a man was trying to take property from his house and loaded up the caller’s firewood.
• 8:11 p.m. — A Highway 84/285 caller requested that a neighbor who was kicking his door be removed from his property.
• 8:42 p.m. — A Dixon man said someone was cutting down wood on his father’s property. When the caller told the unwanted woodcutter he couldn’t cut the wood, the man threatened him. Police took a report.
Driving Under the Influence of Coffee
Friday, Oct. 30
• 7:33 a.m. — An Allsup’s convenience store caller said a man was trying to steal a 30-pack of beer. The thief was detoxed and cited for shoplifting.
• 8:07 a.m. — A Santa Cruz Country Store caller said a Jeep was driving all over the road. The officer determined the Jeep’s driver was paying too much attention to his coffee and not enough attention to driving.
• 8:10 a.m. — An Española Middle School special education assistant said some children hit her with a book. The school handled the incident.
• 12 p.m. — A caller reported that a piece of metal blew off a semi-truck on Highway 84/285 when it blew a tire. Police took a report.
• 1:38 p.m. — A KFC Quickstop caller said a man was trying to use a credit card with a female’s name and was holding his thumb over the picture. He claimed the card belonged to his mother.
• 6:43 p.m. — A Las Lomas Apartments caller said the occupants of a gold Pontiac Grand Am were throwing bottles on the side of the road. Police couldn’t find any vehicle matching that description.
• 10:23 p.m. — A State Road 76 caller said a real big horse was coming from Chimayó. Police couldn’t find it.
Drunk Lady Scares Trick-or-Treaters
Saturday, Oct. 31
• 11:51 a.m. — A Cebolla caller said he was approached by three men in a green truck who may have been intoxicated and shooting off a handgun. They turned out to be hunters.
• 3:04 p.m. — A McCurdy School caller requested an officer go to the football field because a man was making threats during the Bobcats game against the Escalante Lobos. The man was escorted off the football field because the game was close and a lot of the fans were getting out of control.
• 3:35 p.m. — A Private Drive 1600 caller said a nephew whom she evicted was calling her saying he was going to dig out the septic system.
• 6:37 p.m. — A Camino Arbolera caller said a drunk lady was giving out candy and telling trick-or-treaters they couldn’t have candy unless they said “Trick or treat.”
• 8:24 p.m. — A State Road 76 caller said she thought her son was coming off of heroin or cocaine because he was being loud in the house and was mad at the world. She said he had a warrant out of Santa Fe, but dispatchers reported that was not true.
• 9:08 p.m. — A County Road 140 caller said people were pounding on her door, and she thought they were going to break it down. Then she said it was a false alarm; her cousin and her aunt were at the door playing a prank on her.
• 9:48 p.m. — A Villa del Norte Apartments caller said 10 juveniles dressed in costumes were going from door to door scaring the residents in the area. They couldn’t be found.
Dog Doo
Sunday, Nov. 1
• 12:12 p.m. — A caller said there were two dogs at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park that weren’t supposed to be there. The dog defecated where the caller was standing.
• 8:52 p.m. — A caller said a man with a woman in the men’s clothing section of Wal-Mart needed to be arrested. She was told the officer couldn’t go arrest someone just because a person was telling them to arrest them. She became irate and hung up.
